The Westin is a beautiful resort right on the beach. Check-in was easy, the rooms are large and clean. Lots of concierge stands to help you plan what to do if you haven't booked activities already. There is a gift shop with convenience store items and an ATM on site. The resort is located next to Whaler's Village shopping center, which has plenty of brand shops and a food court with cheap but delicious fare. Self-parking is included in the Resort fee. There is a sign labeling the first row of parking for compact cars only, so drive past this sign to find wider parking spots.
"Beautiful Hotel and Helpful Staff"
I've been to Maui more times than I can count, this was my first stay at the Westin Maui with my daughter 13, my son 34 and his girlfriend 35. We stayed all 8 nights in a Premier Suite which had an amazing view of the ocean from all 3 balconies! My son and his girlfriend slept in the pull out sofa bed in the main living area, it was big enough and comfortable to sleep on. Housekeeping: they were excellent and accommodated our late morning exits from the room. We NEVER had to wait for our room to be cleaned, it was always done when we returned from our day. We made several calls for extra towels and blankets, they arrived within 5 minutes of the call. Pool Service: Can you say 5 star plus service! These guys are great, we rented a Gazebo for 2 of our 8 days and it was fabulous. There was a minor mixup with another family and we had to move from one Gazebo to another, the staff more than made up for the minor inconvenience, loved these guys! Pool: The pool is great, how can you not love it, my only complaint is that the water was too cold to have fun. I'm not sure if it's a time of year thing but the water needs to be warmed up, there were very few people using the pool because of the water temperature. All in all this was one of the best stays on Maui we've ever had, we'll return to the Westin on our next visit later this year.
My favorite hotel on Maui. Great rooms, and the best beds. Great adult and kids pools. Staff is extremely nice, and a great location. Kid's camp, and a great gym. Close to everything, I always try to stay there.
"Beautiful vacation - and staff went above and beyond to help fix a problem"
We recently returned from our first trip to Maui and a seven night stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely breathtaking with dreamy sunsets every night and a lovely pool area for the kids to play in. It was definitely their idea of heaven! I loved looking out of our room and seeing the humpback whales mothers and babies in every direction during their migration here at this time of year. A concierge named Shirley helped me arrange for snorkeling, dinner reservations and other fun activities even prior to our arrival. Our kids loved going to the Kids Club on the last night having fun there and hunting for geckos and toads and playing with the games in the room while we enjoyed a sunset dinner at Honu in Lahaina. The luau on the property was wonderful with good food and great performers! On the third day there was a problem in our room and the housekeeping staff did everything they could to help us and move (and upgrade) us to a different room. Thank you to April and the front desk staff for being prompt and professional, starting at 7 am that morning. We received updates via text and follow up phone calls to make sure that everything was in order. We were never made to feel that we were being a nuisance. The view from the lanai on this fifth floor suite room was amazing and we enjoyed having coffee and breakfast with the sound of the ocean. We rented a car and found this was great for day trips to Haleakala Crater and Hana. (And downloaded excellent Shaka Guides onto our phones/bluetooth to help be a "tour guide" on the trips there and kept us and the kids entertained with info on Hawaii and the sights) We snorkeled at nearby Black Rock near the Sheraton and also gorgeous Napili beach a short drive away. The self parking at the hotel was crowded but we only had to valet one night and it was complimentary because the lot was full. There is some traffic but not that surprising as this is a popular destination (for good reason). Lahaina is close nearby, with shops, great restaurants and a reasonable grocery store where we stocked up on lunch and bfast items and snacks for trips. In summary, we loved out beautiful view, the pool and outdoor amenities were lovely. Very friendly and professional staff. Would definitely stay there again and recommend that others do too. Ka'anapali Beach is beautiful and the Westin a great place to stay. Mahalo Westin! Doing a great job!
"First visit to Maui"
This is our first visit to Maui. 5 night stay. Upgraded to an ocean view room in the beach tower of the resort. The views of the pools, the grounds and the ocean are beautiful. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Everybody from the valet, front desk, housekeeping, restaurants, grounds crew, etc. are warm and will easily engage in conversation if you allow it. Brought our 18-month old boy along...we didn't feel out of place. Family friendly resort with several activity centers for the kids. You will run into several families who are on their family vacation. The resort is right on the beach. It sits on a portion of Kaanapali beach. Conveniently steps away from the sand and ocean. The grounds are well kept and manicured. Several waterfalls, flamingos, koi fish ponds, parrots, macaos, black and white swans are on premises. Only a few minutes walk to Whalers Village to visit beach front boutiques, shops, restaurants and a museum. Would stay here again
