"Fine for a 2 night business trip, but nothing exceptional"
I am a frequent visiter of Starwood properties for both business and personal trips. For some reason hotels in NY were quite expensive during my time in Aug of 2016. I paid 550 per night to stay at the Westin and while they did upgrade me to the top level with a view of the river, the room could have been in better shape. Just seemed to be a bit worn and could use a little touch up. The staff was very nice and the restaurant looked appealing. About 1 block to Times Square and about a mile from the Hudson River (great place to go for a run while in town). Overall, the hotel is fine but hard to spend 1100 for two nights but a middle of the road hotel. Welcome to NYC
"This hotel is not 4.5 stars !"
This hotel is average. I would not say it's 4.5 stars. My room was very clean, but it didn't have a refrigerator, microwave, or laundry facility at this hotel . The room service breakfast was not good at all and cost $50 for one meal, but I had no choice, I had a small baby with me. There are other options near the hotel for breakfast. Also, the in room coffee maker looks like it has never been cleaned, just nasty. Wifi, is not included, it will cost you $15 extra dollars per day. This alone made me not want to stay here ever again. The location to Times Square is fantastic. All you have to do is go out the side where the movie theatre is and you'll be at all the attraction and restaurants. If you don't mind spending over $400 for 2 nights, stay here, if you want luxury in that price range stay somewhere else. I'll be going back to New York in a couple of weeks to do some more sightseeing but, I won't be staying here again. Remember to get a ticket for the parking garage, it costed us $100 to parked in the garage for 2 days. Also, don't touch anything in the refrigerator, you touch it, you pay for it.
I stayed in this hotel last Sept. 2016. This hotel has an amazing location. Very near Times square (1 block, near a theater. It faces a Shake Shack branch and a deli so you wont get hungry!:) All the action starts in Times Square, some of the store are open until 2 in the morning so even if you get bored, you can always go to Times Square :) The room of the hotels are okay, I love the bathroom. Beds are comfy and the toiletries provided smells really nice. I cannot remember if I have internet in the room but there is in the lobby. Also drinking water (aside from the complimentary bottles)were provided near the elevator, and they provide free Starbucks drip coffee :).
"Very nice hotel in a good location"
Professional and courteous staff. Lovely comfortable room. Would have loved brunch after checking out at hotel restaurant, however breakfast ended at 11am. The housekeeping knocked on every door at an early hour- which deducts a star.
"A few problems with room at checkin. Jung Lee, Ops Dir immediately jumped on issues and team resolved. Great job!"
Not perfect at start but Westin staff moved quickly to resolve and made it a great five night party in NYC! They exercise area is BEST I've experienced in many years of travel. The people running this facility are top notch, watching out for security but allowing customers to move around many unique service areas with ease. The place is good, the people managing are GREAT!
