"Oasis in the busiest city in the world"
Th Westin Times Square has been my "go to" hotel when I am in NYC. It offers a quiet, comfortable and secure refugee from the busy city outside it's walls. The staff is very accommodating and professional. The fitness facilities are nearly perfect.
We stayed here with friends and the view from our room was amazing, even the bathroom had a view. Staff were very friendly and atentive nothing was to much trouble for them. Restaurant food was lovely and bar staff were also lovely. The day we were coming home there was an incident in Time Square and traffic was diverted, we asked what would happen to the car we had ordered to take us the airport and the staff reassured us it would be fine ghey would stop around the corner it wouldn't be a problem. The car was late and hotel contacted the company and were told they were just running late because of Time Square diversion. I would recommend this hotel.
"Great Business travel location"
Westin Time Square staff are great support for your business trips into NYC. Central location directly over the 42nd ST subway station makes getting around the city easy. Rooms are always clean. Room service is good but pricy, as all room service is. For quick cheaper eats try the .99 pizza slice shop across the street, or shake shake, 1 box north. Walking distance to all theaters. Can walk to Javits as well, but I would take a cab. For good steak go south 2 blocks to Wolfgangs. Concierge can help.
"Great experience at the Westin"
We stayed at the Westin Times Square for our daughter's 6th birthday and went to the Lion King which was just around the corner. It is a well priced hotel for New York, in a very central location. We arrived at 11am expecting to have to store our bags until check in but our room was available immediately. The lobby has a nice, welcoming feel. Our room was on the 37th floor and was very quiet. The room is not large (we had two adults and two children in two double beds) but it was big enough and we didn't spend much time there. We had no problems with housekeeping, our room was made up by lunchtime every day. It is very much in the middle of the hectic Times Square area which worked well for us, but might not be for everyone. Overall a great New York hotel experience.
We stayed three nights here and had nothing but perfectly wonderful service from the gentlemen who helped store our bags before the room was ready, to the front desk and manager who worked their magic to find us a room last minute when our flight was cancelled to the ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS Maggie the Concierge, who nailed it with all her recommendations. Her knowledge helped make our NY adventure better then expected. The rooms were very clean, the lobby was classy and comfortable and the hotel restaurant was delicious. When our complete order didn't make it to the table(side of fries) the sweet waitress apologized over and over then the manager delivered them to the table and comp'd the dish. The location was good because it was one block off Time Square so you were very close but not right in the crazy. I would highly recommend this hotel!
