"Westin Times square"
We often stay here when visiting our Son in NYC. The hotel is great, perfectly located, with great facilities and an excellent staff Great gym and the staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. We will be back again!
View from 22nd floor room made the room special. Beds were wonderful! Bathroom smaller but fine. The hotel is a classy and the staff is friendly, polite, and gracious. The price per night was $200 and I thought for the area, it was worth every penny!
"NYC city break"
Started with great service from a lovely lady at check-in, our room wasn't ready but she offered, for a cost, a superior room higher up the building (room 4333) which we took. This turned out to be a great choice, fab views of Tines Square and the Empire State Building. She offered us a free movie per nights stay which was a nice gesture. Unfortunately this was charged for when I checked out but subsequently removed when questioned. I always wonder if this is a ploy by hotels hoping you won't notice! Otherwise a great hotel in the most fantastic location.
"Needs a Westin Intervention"
I love Westins! Have always enjoyed my stays all over the US. Times Square was not up to par with any of the others that I have enjoyed. I was put in a handicapped room, which I did not request. This wasn't the worse thing, but there was a large shower chair and stool taking up much of the shower. The sink basin was so shallow, with no counter space, so there was no room for items, and water got absolutely everywhere. There is a stand next to the sink to put toiletries on to, but it's small with no edges so your things fall off on to the floor easily. Function over tiny-form would be great to think about when designing the space. When I first got to the room and went to wipe up some water that had spilled on the black-tiled bathroom floor, my white washcloth was filthy with dirt. The best thing about the room was the comfortable bed which is one of Westins usual strong suits. It was cozy. We went to the restaurant downstairs, The Foundry, for breakfast, only to be shocked that it was a usual buffet type like you would have in an economy hotel, only the food was MUCH worse than I've ever had in an economy hotel. The charge was 33.00 per person, which made it even more ridiculous. I will not give up on Westin, but I will not stay here again in NYC.
"Still a Westin- even in Times Square"
Even despite the noise and lights of times square, there is no reason to not expect a peaceful and restful evening when staying in this part of the big apple. Regardless of where you are, honestly, the heavenly bed is still heavenly. My stay was incredibly pleasant, but I was not looking for luxurious and over the top. Great consistency in Westin properties.
