"Pristine Ocean, what more can you want!"
This place is beautiful, everyone is extremely nice and accommodating. Food is best at Golf Club and main lobby hotel. Great pool, and love taking advantage of entire compound. The rooms are clean and nice. Add the breakfast special to your stay - for 15 per person, great deal. Also, can take the shuttle to get around - might want to take a quick trip into "town" to the supermarket - stock up on snacks and water. Anything you might need. Pharmacy here as well. This is my second trip to Westin and fifth trip to Punta Cana.
"Beautiful beach front property!!"
Beautiful property – looks exactly like the pictures! I booked the Westin for a short 3 day sun break and it was perfect. At just 5 minutes from the airport, it couldn’t be more convenient (and I never noticed any airplane noise at the hotel). It sits within the Punta Cana Resort & Club with beautiful grounds, great beaches and access to other restaurants within the wider resort area as well as the luxurious Six Senses Spa. Arriving, the property is beautiful with its lobby open to the pool area and the beach beyond it. The staff was always very nice, friendly and did anything they could to be helpful. All of the rooms have ocean and/or pool views. My room was beautiful and very clean. At first, I wasn’t thrilled about the ground floor location but ended up liking the easy access. I also loved that the pool and beach were just steps away – something that may not be the case in a larger resort. My trip was not during any school break so I don’t think the hotel was full and it was very peaceful and relaxing – exactly what I was looking for. If you want tons of activities all the time, you may want to look elsewhere (though there is a beach sports facility with kite surfing, sea kayaking and such). Also note that it’s not all-inclusive – again, exactly what I wanted but others may feel differently. The food at the two restaurants was mostly good though not outstanding and there was always a table available. The dishes from the Dominican section of the menu and the “Chef’s corner” Peruvian specialties were among the best I had. All in all, great hotel and I’d definitely go back! I suspect that during a busier period they would need more beach chairs but that seems an easy problem to solve.
"Great Winter get away"
Newer hotel, great rooms. All have some view out to the ocean. Friendly staff, especially at the towel hut - great way to start your morning. Morning buffet is excellent and beach side restaurant has has wonderful selection on the menu.
Had an amazing time.. stayed on 4th floor w beautiful view of pool and ocean. I believe all rooms have a balcony or deck. $20 ride to/from airport but rides to village shops, spa, golf, and eco reserve are free. Both restaurants are very good but breakfast is a little slow and frustrating (50+ mins for a bagel...) but it is what it is. Super clean updated room w great amenities. Did the MAGc program but someone still enters room and replaces water and fixes bed. Whoever cleaned our room in 413 from Jan 11-16th was amazing. It was immaculate. In a location that isn't super close to night life/clubs so not sure if this is the spot for young partiers but it was perfect relaxing spot for us!
"Something Is Missing!"
Clean resort - very close to the airport. Resort was expensive: they add a service charge and inflated taxes automatically to the bill (tip not included). Based on the price and amenities, we should have selected an All Inclusive Resort. There is not a lot going on at this resort but it works if you are looking for some R&R. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. No door on main bathroom entrance. There is only a glass door by toilet and shower therefore the bathroom lacked privacy. I would not return because I prefer more bathroom privacy, amenities and a different environment. There is a $10 Entrance Fee at the airport. We rented a car for $60 a day instead of using a taxi or shuttle. We were able to explore Punta Cana at our own leisure. We enjoyed visiting the other resort properties and realized some of the All Inclusive Resorts offer day passes at affordable rates. There was more action at the other resorts than at the Westin Resort.
