I stayed here for a conference for the second year in a row. The proximity to Gaslamp, Little Italy, and the water make the location ideal. The service throughout the hotel was also consistently positive. The higher floor I was offered was appreciated for the beautiful views. This is a very good downtown choice.
This hotel is located near Santa Fe Station. The access to Gaslamp Quarter is on walkable distance. We experienced some problems. The first one was the assignment of a different room than otherwise reserved and a totally inefficient wi fi internet. It took a while to change the room and on our 3 night stay they were incapable of restablishing the internet service! Despite that, comfortable beds and good shower, quiet room.
"Shout-Out to Leon Williams"
Being a Platinum member, I have much better options but I always stay at this property due to its proximity to where I do business and most of all, its wonderful staff. Other properties have fabulous Concierge Lounge but all I need is a very good cup of coffee in the morning of which Starbucks is provided in the rooms, and yes, a glass of wine or two during early evening socials in the lobby. I've never had any problem with my reservations except this week and next when hotels are mostly sold-out but the ever accommodating Front Desk agent Leon Williams made it possible for me to get a room, YES! This is one reason why I remain loyal to this property, the extra efforts the staff does to accommodate guests with total satisfaction!!
Centrally located to both little Italy and the Gaslamp District. Our room was clean, had a nice view and was quiet but a bit underwhelming. While this property met our basic needs, we will probably choose another property next time. There are just too many other options to explore in San Diego.
We went down to San Diego for a romantic one night getaway. When we arrived Saturday it was happy hour where they serve free snacks. Nuts, M&M's, Mike & Ike's, popcorn, and other snack foods. It was a nice welcome to begin our stay. Valet parking is $47/day or you can park next door at the Emerald underground lot for $24/day. You can even take their elevator to the Westin lobby. Service was very good - everyone was friendly, helpful and accommodating. They gave us a map of the downtown area and even provided some restaurant recommendations. We walked along the harbor, Little Italy, and Seaport Village. Everything was very easy to get to and we didn't need to drive anywhere. Our view was very good and room was fine. It does need some updating but everything was clean and the location was fantastic.
