"Laid back relaxed business hotel"
Nice room overlooking the street. Comfortable bed. My rom had a big TV but other than CNN and bbc, hotel should consider connecting these smart tvs. Air orobide instructions to change the language. almost all program were in Portuguese. Mini bar was ok, but Slightly overpriced. Staff were very courteous, breakfast was average, There are several great restaurants in the neighborhood that serves great food. Great experience.
This hotel is more suited to the business person, rather than one wanting to be near the beaches. Comfortable hotel, although the room I was put in on Saturday overlooked the back of the hotel where work was being carried out on a neighbouring building till way past 2am when I eventually fell asleep. Food is buffet style, decent selection. Roof top pool with gym and sauna.
"Just great with a nice location..."
Great standards, staff is very friendly and close to every place that I required to go, good rooms and excellent wi-fi connection, very clean and well organized, went with family that was well treated and good garage service.
"They don't speak English!"
If you don't speak Spanish, you don't want to be here. No one speaks English, including the front desk. It was frustrating ordering room service, getting housekeeping to do something, or organizing an airport transfer. Aside from this fact, this is a 2 star hotel which hasn't been updated in quite a while. The rooms are somewhat clean, but spartan with few amenities. The gym on the roof is smoking hot, and limited in its equipment. The location is in Centro which is distant from the beaches and most other tourist destinations with lots of traffic, as well. The room service food was inedible, but it's hard to find a convenience store nearby, so you have to go eat the grilled meats from the street which were good.
"Nice place in downtown"
Stayed during the Olympics which is not a normal time for sure. The house keeping was crisp and clean. The breakfast was good and large with lots of breads. The best is the front desk staff. I took advantage of giving my key to them for safe keeping and it was a pleasure to be greeted and retrieve the room key when I returned. I had a room on the 5th floor. The street noise was not a big deal for some reason. The A/C fan stays on. Takes some getting used to but it sort of acts like white noise. There is a pub district for a lack of a better word on the other side of the cathedral. We ate there most evenings. There is a KFC and McDonalds nearby. The KFC closed early. The McDonalds stayed open late for some reason. The roof top pool is a really nice spot. They serve drinks and light meals via the waiter. Of course staying a Copacabana would have been great, however for downtown this is a nice place.
