Nice hotel across street from the beach. Stayed here 10 days late January 2016. Rained every day, ducked rain drops each day LOL. BIG CAUTION: bring enough cash. Hotel had no ATM. Local gas station/stores a few steps from hotel, thier ATMs didn't take USA cards. Had to take taxi every few days to large bank at Barra Mall to get Reals(15.00) US RT. Other than that, nice location, kind of uppity staff at desk, but Superb Breakfast daily. Best coffee I've EVER TASTED. Hotel is only 2 years new. Clean. My wife and I would give this place another try for sure.
"Very Nice hotel across from the beach"
This was a new hotel that sits right across from the beach. We had a great view from our room. Staff were very nice in getting us a room on a higher floor. Very good full breakfast buffet that was included.
"Beautiful hotel but some real problems"
Hard time reviewing this hotel. On one hand, it is beautiful with spacious, nice rooms. On the other hand, when I checked in the toilet was blocked and backed up with "contents". Already unpacked, so instead of changing rooms, I had to call both housekeeping and plumbing to fix it. I can't believe they left it that way for a new guest! Then, a friend left expensive sunglasses for me at the front desk. When I went to get them, they had given them away to a total stranger!!! Someone just signed for them and they gave them, with no proof. And the front desk staff just shrugged their shoulder, showing me the signature. Horrible security procedures. They just shoved them in a drawer and gave them to "someone" who just signed any name. Staff try to help, but don't speak much English, especially in the dining room. Nice breakfast, but don't get much comprehension talking to the staff. For a hotel this size and class, the gym / fitness room was very very small. Almost claustrophobic with very little equipment. Many hotels on the beach there; would try some other one.
"On the beach where locals go"
First of all: this is the beach that the locals go when they want to enjoy the sea. Aside from that, the hotel offers first class service, bright light, clean and well decorated. The room is normal size for a five star. The staff are extremely polite and attentive, but this above average. Breakfast consistent with the best of Miami, careful chefs (Roger especially super request). The pool on the 17th floor overlooks the breathtaking view. The only problem is that it is far from Ipanema and Leblon, centers of Rio's night. And the traffic is very bad.
"Spent 3 weeks here"
We spent 3 weeks in September at the Windsor. All staff was amazingly kind and helpfull. Our room was beautiful and normal sized. We loved the bathroom as weel, because we had enough space. Mornings were perfect in the restaurant with tasty coffee. The pool and the gym is perfect. And the view.. Amazing. The beach makes you a kid. And it is very near to the entrance. Go Rio go. :)
