"Not worth the money you pay!"
When we got to the hotel the receptionist looked at us as he was giving us a favour checking us in, when we got into our rooms the windows looked like they havent been washed in few months, we complained immediately about that, was no coffee machine. For New Year "set menu and the table" we have paid $680 for 4 people ( I brought my mom for her 50th to Rio" they placed us with completely random people and was no set menu, it was buffet and food was far from the greatest. We have left that place 10 minutes later, felt like it was some kind of a greek vibe wedding. Also to wash 2 bags of clothes they charged us $400. We had to check in very early I went the day before to check the bill so we can quickly get a taxi, the bill was 450 reals, next day when we had to rush, it was 1850 real as they added stuff to everything, this place cost us $3700 for 5 days and was NOT worth every cent staying there, its NOT 5 star hotel, they invested in the lobby and the passage, but when you get into the rooms section its like going to the communism country look. We stayed in Pulman hotel Sao Paulo the day before and it was NO comparison to Windsor! Will never stay their again!
"Very disappointed first night!"
I am a client at Windsor Atlântica. So, I chose Windsor Marapendi thinking I would have the same reception. But I was sent to a room that was not corresponding to a room I have paid on the hotel reservation site: “luxury". We arrived late at night. After a long flight, we asked for a meal in the “the luxe double room” that was supposed to be around 29 square meters, sea view, with a desk, plus a table with an armchair. Then, I was sent to a smaller room, with no armchair and table…So one of us would eat standing up. I called the front desk and they said they would send another chair and leave a message to the front desk staff for them to change us to another room. In the morning, there was no contact from the front desk…then I called them to find out about it…They did not know about it…So, I had to explain everything again…so, they changed me to a new room that was supposed to be in accordance to the one I have chosen and paid in advance. Apart from that, everything went very well. The hotel is brand new and room service was very good. I should say they would improve options during breakfast. I did not see options for veggies. It is in a prime location in Barra da Tijuca, in front of post 7.
"Nice stay in Nov while attending conference"
Great service, helpful friendly staff, nice rooms. Across from beach with access to beach chairs and umbrellas. Nice included breakfast with lots of choice. Dinner at restaurant was also nice. About 20-30 min in low-ave traffic to Rio Centro conf centre, cab ride of 40-50R. Takes much longer to get downtown to sites.
We were staying in Windsor Marapendi Hotel from 24th October to 27th October. Staff on reception were very welcoming and polite. Rooms are modern, spacious and clean. There are a variety of food for breakfast: eggs can be prepared as you wish, waffles, pastries, fruits. Reasonable prices in lobby bar (R$15 for caipirinha!) and for wallet parking (R$ 20 per day). Pedro from wallet parking is the best! :) I did not understand their problem with bathrobes. We had it first day we've arrived but after we had to call everyday on reception so they bing it to us. No slippers at all and no water (you have it only in minibar).
"Excellent Customer Service"
I usually stay in a few Hotel Chains around the world (EXE , Windsor, NH, Crown) but the service that I have received at the Windsor Marapendi was excellent !! Concierges are fluent Portuguese, English , Italian and Spanish speakers !! Barra is an exclusive part of rio, very safe to walk around and to enjoy in their exclusive beaches, although its a little bit far for the more crowded and know places of Copacabana
