"Bad for vacation"
Very thin wall and noisy room. Heard people talking from the next room a whole night. Not suggest for a vacation. Told the reception this problem and nothing has changed. Would ever come here again if its for a vacation that need a relax time.
This is the best hotel and resort , nice service , great location, huge Swimming pools excellent for families , kids, the greens all around and fresh air , quiet, good rooms and facilities, 10 min walk to beach.....excellent breakfast spread, fresh fruits and fish ....really enjoyed it. Going to visit again with family.
"PLEASE READ ON...."
Been to Pattaya on many occasions but it was my first visit to Woodlands Resort. First impressions when I first arrived were positives, was at the hotel quite early (9.00am), check-in was smooth with a pleasant lady at reception and was told that my room was ready...great! The hotel is divided in different blocks with some around the tropical pool and others around the garden pool (superior rooms). The deluxe, deluxe pool & suites are around the tropical pool with some having a direct access to the pool. Small gardens, but well maintained and with plenty of trees, however hotel looks a bit tired in some areas.I had booked a suite room with large private terrace. Located on ground floor within a couple of meters of the tropical pool. Very spacious room with separate living area & bedroom with king size bed. 2 tv's, living room has a large sofa, dining table, desk, very large fridge. Bathroom has a bath with shower + there is a walking shower. The usual amenities are all provided daily, plenty of drinking water, bathrobes, towels & pool towels. The room itself is very bright with 2 large bay windows in each room with direct access to your terrace, high ceiling, wooden floors & furnitures, very clean. On your terrace your have a coffee table, chairs and 2 lounge chairs. If you expect to have the sun on your terrace at anytime during the day then you will be disappointed as none of the rooms with terrace have any direct sun. The matress was very comfortable, some may find it hard but for me it was perfect! I had a couple of maintenance issues, on the first day it was with the walking shower, could not get any hot water and shower head was leaking everywhere, however an engineer was there within 10 minutes of reporting it and all sorted. Then a couple of days later, the air con was leaking in the living room and all the lights were flashing everywhere in the room. That was at 10pm...and still an engineer came within 15 minutes to sort it out. There are 2 negatives I would like to raise about the room, one is a lack of Thai decor/influence in the room (Very IKEA) and the other is the private terrace, very big, but seriously lacking of love & attention. Considering that the suite is the most expensive, you feel very short changed. So much potential and yet so little done about it. Housekeeping was very good. BREAKFAST: No offer for room service breakfast, you have your breakfast in the garden restaurant, it's ok, average but well below some of the breakfast I have experienced in other hotels in Pattaya. STAFF: Very friendly and polite, all of them. However part from the reception staff, their English is very, very basic, almost non existent. Their management should seriously consider providing them with complimentary English lessons, it's good for business their own development and most of all for their guests. RESTAURANTS: Woodlands Resort advertise all their RESTAURANTS on their website..but all are just outside the hotel. La Ferme, Grappa and La Baguette, but in none of them can you charge the meal onto your room, that is a serious lack of customer service towards their hotel guests. The lobby lounge was completely closed during my entire stay (11 nights). SPA: Completely shut during my entire stay. When I asked the staff they said "redoing the inside"'' As far as I could see, there was no work going on at all. If you want to have a drink at the bar in the hotel...well you can't unless you go outside the hotel...this is absolutely incredible. Pool bar is open till around 7pm...and after that time the hotel is like a ghost town. The garden cafe only open for breakfast. Be prepare to be up very early if you want a sunbed with the sun by the pool, plenty with shade but very few with the sun for most of the day. THE POSITIVES: 1) Room very spacious 2) Staff very pleasant 3) Gardens & pools (Garden pool is very small) 4) Grounds very well kept 5) Housekeeping was very good. THE NOT SO GOOD: 1) Can't charge your restaurant meals onto your room (be prepared to have plenty of cash or a credit card). 2) Lobby lounge completely closed. If you want a drink or snack in the evening then you can't. 3) SPA was completely closed and not been made aware before arrival. 4) Garden cafe only open for breakfast but well advertised to serve all day till 6pm a la carte Thai food Overall, feeling very short changed as so many services offered within the resort were completely closed. Will probably not go back for a second time and I would personally struggle to recommend it.
"Very quiet nice hotel"
Cons: very quiet hotel , trees everywhere, very green, tidy garden, excellent for families and couples, 2 beautiful pools in green, one italian and one thai restaurant high quality, a european style bakery cafe. Very friendly staff Pros: room furnitures a lil bit old fashioned, no animations - attractions, breakfast just ok.
The resort is very very large and peaceful. Room is big enough and clean. There're several swimming pools inside the resort. The location's great, just a few walks to the restaurants, bars, convenient stores. Staff are friendly too. Been there twice and both times were enjoyable.
