"Average three star Hotel"
This was not one of the best hotels on our Sinorama tour. Our room was spacious, the bathrooms were also big but unfortunately we could see mould in the grouting. The TV in my room was not working and they came after 15 minutes and tried to fix it. They then took it away and after 1/2 hr. they brought it back - repaired. Then the A/C is not working, by that time it was 11 pm, so I just opened the windows and went to bed. The breakfast was average.
"Reasonable Hotel with spacious room"
I was visiting an exhibition in Shanghai and my associates has helped me book this hotel. Room is spacious and clean with ample amenities . Down side will be the breakfast isn't that good and it is at times difficult to catch a cab during peak hours.
"Nexus Holidays stay at Wyndum Bund East Hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in November 2016, and found it to be in a good location - can wander safely at night foraging for food at the many nearby restaurants, and the room itself was very large, clean, with good views over the bridge and river. Directly below is a suburb of quite poor housing, where the people share washroom and bathroom facilities every 500 metres, this is to be demolished in the next 2 years and the area through to the river redeveloped, according to our guide. This means that the views may go if more high rise are constructed, and this is Shanghai, so I think that this will be a when not an if. We were at the hotel with Nexus Travel, and all of our group had good rooms, it sounded as if some rooms had been recently upgraded or refurbished, ours hadn't, but it was still good, probably a 3.5 star room by Australian standards, with plenty of space and a king sized bed, bath, shower, writing desk, sofa. Ask for a view of the bridge and ask to be on a higher floor if you get the chance, the lower floors have blocked views. We were on floor 22. Overall a good hotel. Breakfasts were good, and there is a very large eating area, so no need to worry if you can get a table for breakfast or not.
"Large room, nice view, but not very clean"
Stayed for 4 days. Room was large. Requested a high floor room with nice view according to the advice from other reviewers here and the staff did able to fulfil the request. There were large windows in the room with a nice sense of space. Stuff in the room were not clean. The toilet seat was stained. There were some hair on the bathrobes. Some dust over the bed sheet etc. This is not one would expect with that price in China. Did not try the breakfast but my colleague said it was just so so.
"Not quite on the Bund, but close enough."
Very modern hotel with large, clean and comfortable room. Unlike other hotels in China, room smelled fresh and not of stale cigarette smoke. Coming back from an excellent breakfast, we got a nice surprise when opening our door, the curtains automatically opened to that beautiful view of the bridge below. (We tried it a second time, just for the fun of it!). Also laying in the bath tub while watching tv was a treat! Coffee supply at breakfast was a tad slow, but no big deal. Though calling themselves "Bund, the hotel is quite a ways away from the Bund, but a 5 dollar cab ride will get you there in no time.
