Set in the historic center of the city, this sleek, elegant hotel is 2 km from the Grand Bazaar, 3 km from the Hagia Sophia and 5 km from Topkapı Palace.
"Centrally located "
The rooms and the service was ordinary. We had to upgrade our room for a fine stay. The spa was good. The location of the hotel was very convenient, because of its central location in the heart of the city. It made it easy for us to explore.
"Ideally located in a happening place "
The hotel is ideally located in the old city. However, on checking into we were shocked at the size of the rooms where we felt we would not be able to breathe and then we asked for an upgrade into suite room of course for a heavy price. A word of caution to those who love spaciousness please book for suite rooms their standard rooms are very very claustrophobic. The suite rooms are spacious and clean with nice ambience. The reception staff was good and so was the concierge. The breakfast spread is elaborate. However with suite rooms they give you usage to their club lounge where they offer little snacks etc at intervals. However the housekeeping staff expects you to pay for even an extra bottle of water or wine glasses or opener etc very unlike the hotels in India. In all it was a good experience.
"For me it was'nt a 5 stars experience!"
The hotel is an old fashioned hotel which is nice but there is somethings that i didnt feel it deserves 5 stars , the location is really good close to many of the most important attractions in istanbul yet this have disadvantages as well for example i cant even open the window for a fresh air i did it once and when i came back to the room it was filled with food and frying smells which was "not cool" , i did also like that there is no supporting of handicaps for example it was all stairs only even at the entrance .. The breakfast was always empty and takes long to fill again( atleast that was i have experienced) and they simply turned of the lights at 10:30 even though there was people who are still setting and not done!... But after all its good for those who only need a hotel close to a shopping center and you can always find taxes the tram , buses .. Nice hotel not the best defiantly but not bad (it might seem simple things to some but for others it does matter)
"Nice hotel with Great Location"
The first impression of the Wyndham Hotel Old City Istanbul was Pleasant and it last during all my stay, I was there in 02nd week of November the 09th, they upgraded me from standard room to Suite without my request and without any extra charges. Hotel rooms are large in size and suite consist a separate seating area with Sofa and table. Tea & coffee making facility is also available in the room, overall the rooms are very comfortable bath rooms are also large in size with all basic amenities. Breakfast with wide range of food to select from, quantity and quality both are above standard. Hotel has large lobby with a restaurant / Bar Area, in the evening many guests enjoy this facility. Wifi is free with good & reliable service In general I find the hotel a high standard except the light in room is not enough, I was given room no 2305 and the light was so dim that even after using all available lights I couldn’t read my books This is a luxurious hotel and location is really super, it is in the old city, very very close to Grand Bazar, Laleli University, and Sultan Ahmed Mosque. You can visit most of the tourist places within 15-25 minute walking. It is hardly 20 minutes walk to Sultan Ahmed Mosque and 2 minutes walk to Laleli tram stop, To Travel in the tram you need to purchase Istanbul card which cost 02 dollars and per travel it cost almost 01 Dollar, you can charge it as you go. I ‘d like to stay here again and highly recommended.
