"Wow great time"
We spend 6 brilliant nights at Zeavola. From the speedboat transfer from Phuket to the check in the arrival was great. Our room was a Garden Suite with a lovely outdoor shower, comfortable bed and a beautiful veranda. The pool area was really quiet at times there was nobody there. The sea was really clear and the sand postcard white, it really was a beautiful location. Breakfast was really good and the cocktails were to die for. Lion the F&B manager is a great guy and his team are really good. A special mention to Nan who won Miss Zeavola as part of the Songkran celebrations. Florian the GM is a character and he runs a great resort. House keeping was really good and the little gift at turn down was a lovely touch. We took the hotel's organised tour to Bamboo Island which was spectacular. The hotel staff member that accompanied us, Jakoff was really helpful We hired a guy to give take us on a Maya Beach tour and on another day drop us to Tonsai. His name is Bow, not sure about spelling, but his boat is Khanakun 18. He was a real gentleman. We walked the 25 minutes to Phi phi village and got a motorbike sidecar taxi back. The resort is barefoot luxury but maybe it is not for everyone. We absolutely loved the resort but for people who want/expect luxury like an Anantara just know what you are visiting. It is more rustic, luxury Thai village than an Anantara resort
"Dream come true"
The term barefoot luxury gets a whole new meaning at Zeavola - you literally walk around barefoot all the time while steeped in nature's finest. The water couldn't be any clearer, the beach no whiter and the sounds of frogs and crickets more soothing. Zeavola is really an island dream come true with some of the friendliest staff I have met. Best part about the resort is that it feels incredibly intimate - the bungalows are pretty open but feel cozy and hidden at the same time. I loved my outdoor shower and the bed was as comfortable as they get. The roofs are all thatched with alang alang which gives a lovely grassy smell to the room. The dive centre was also incredible and our dive masters some of the best I have dived with. I loved the fact that we had lunch on a little hidden beach instead of eating on the boat. This is definitely an awesome spot for honeymooners or even just chill on your own and disconnect. I only stayed 2 nights but somehow time slows down here and it felt like a blissful week.
"Perfect venue and host for our Wedding"
We have just spent the most perfect time here for our wedding. For the last few months Mr Lion has been amazing with his helpfulness via email arranging everything and then in person even better making sure we and all our family and friends had the most amazing time here. Mr Lion even took the time out to personally deliver to me our wedding Album, DVD of the wedding and also a pair of forgotten Trainers belonging to my brother to a different part of the Island a couple of days after the wedding. That to me goes a long way and most hotels and resorts could do with their own Mr Lion to run things for them. The beach at the Zeavola isn't just the best in Koh Phi Phi but the best I have visited across all of Thailand in my combined 3 months visiting this country over the last 3 years. We were upgraded to the private Pool Villa (1) for our wedding night free of charge. Our normal Villa, number 50 was right on the beach having a perfect close up view of the ocean from our bedroom and bathroom windows, we even had our own private pathway to to the beach. The barefoot nature of this resort makes you feel you really are in paradise. The service of all the staff was 10/10 and they couldn't have been more helpful. The food was top quality and the breakfast buffet is by far the best quality and most diverse I've had at any resort in Thailand. Mr Lion, Florian the General Manager and the rest of the team did everything to make our stay perfect in every way. We would give this Resort 11 out of 10 if we could!! We will 110% be returning here in future. I feel it would be much better to save money and spend on quality like the Zeavola then to try and stay at lesser hotels for cheaper rates. You get what you pay for Thank you once again, Mike and Candice Crawley
"Memories to treasure forever... absolutely paradise!"
My husband and I spend 5 nights here recently and fell in love, although it wasn’t quite the instant ‘love at first sight’ I’ve heard about. The welcome on the beach, stepping off the boat into the shallow water and feeling the soft powder sand for the first time is second to none. Cold towels and a refreshing drink to wash away the journey from Phuket was also super welcome. Check in was quick and we were shown around the reception area and restaurants and then taken to our room. Having read about the garden suites being sometimes less than private I was a little concerned when I realised just how ‘open plan’ the living was. However, we already knew we were in one of the garden suites that looked to be higher up the hill. Our room was actually very private, I think you would have to be swinging from a nearby tree to get a view into our room – even with the roller blinds up. The internal living space was absolutely beautiful, well air conditioned and floor to ceiling windows with a lovely high pitched room making it feel like a giant luxury tree-house. I must admit, it took a bit of getting used to leaving that comfort to use the bathroom but after 24 hours I was completely at one with nature and loving outdoor life. Even the shower. One worry was being very susceptible to mosquito bites (I’d already been eaten alive in Samui), but Zeavola have thought of that – a giant tennis racket size zapper made light work of them! Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from but the quality could be raised a little – what I did love was that you could choose from the buffet or from the cook to order menu. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until our last day we discovered the little doughnut like treats that were inside the pyramid shaped menu… we wondered what the little dips were for each morning. The coffee was excellent. The main restaurant food was top quality, both western and Thai food was wonderful, as was the service. Great portion sizes and we ended up sharing a lunch (more room for beer), as it was a lot to eat and so hot, even in the shade. What was really special was the atmosphere and beachfront dining with beautiful coconut candles. I loved it. We wanted to save any excursions for when we were on Phi Phi Island so looked at the One day in Paradise trip. On the face of it it seems pricey, but when you work out what you get for the whole day I think its great value. We loved the snorkeling (me not so much, just because I’m rubbish) and Bamboo Island was busy but sooo worth it. Even though there was a mix up with lunch because of my dietary needs, we still had an amazing time. The absolute highlight was the couples massage, it was just such a lovely experience, the best I’ve had by far. Then to top it off, a super romantic candlelit private dinner on the beach with our very own waiter, the lovely Bank. We loved the beach scene… the sunbeds and beanbags are surprisingly comfortable and the water is like a bath. Many reviews go on about how bad the tractors up and down the beach are… it’s all a bit dramatic if you ask me – yes one or two are not quite so considerate but it’s the way of life there and can’t be helped. What was a little more annoying was the tourist boats the thought it was OK to anchor in the no boat zone. The Zeavola staff do everything they can to make your day on the beach comfortable and they do it well. Special thanks to Florian, Lion, Jeffrey and all the wonderful staff. The only thing made leaving a little easier was knowing we weren’t definitely planning to come back.
