"A great return visit"
It's been my second visit to this "barefoot luxury" resort and it's been amazing yet again. From welcome at the phuket Royal Marina with complimentary drinks, to the welcome back on the island (even though previous visit was 6 yrs back) - service was impeccable. You may be tempted trying the surrounding restaurant and massage places only to rediscover how great Zeavola and it's offerings actually are. Thanks to everyone for another comfortable and pampered stay.
"Relaxed and well cared for at the beach"
The resort has a nice beach, not great. The rooms are very Thai luxury style. The management employees were all business, not real friendly. There was a lack of the "Thai smiles" we so looked forward to. Nice place, could be great with a little more attention to customer service.
Stayed four nights on a recent getaway. I have visited this part of Phi Phi before but first time staying at this property. We had a relaxing and trouble-free stay from the start. Easy airport pickup in Phuket and transport to the island via the resort's private boat. The location is on the north of the island away from the noise of tonsai (the main settlement on the island) - if you are looking for a quieter escape this is a great option, if you need noise, nightlife and a party atmosphere I wouldn't stay in this area. There is a nice stretch of beach and a few local stores and restaurants in addition to the resort facilities. It never feels too busy here although you do get some speedboats with tourists on day trips from Phuket. Staff were very welcoming and friendly - some of them even got to know our names. Overall service was good but casual and not overbearing - just right for this type of place. The hotel managers would speak to the guests and make sure everything is in order. The Thai food options at the hotel were good too, although there are also local options on the beach or you can eat at the other nearby resorts. Rooms were great - difficult to describe, I guess you would call them villa style, with an enclosed and air conditioned sleeping area and a separate bathroom/shower. In between there is a deck where you can lounge and relax. Bamboo curtains can be lowered to give the deck area privacy. There was also an outdoor shower which was great. The bed was comfortable and the air conditions cooled the room to a comfortable level. The individual villas are tucked away behind the beach with sandy paths between them, a very relaxing atmosphere. There is a swimming pool but we didn't use it - sitting on the beach is far more enjoyable. Overall this place has a very relaxed and casual vibe - you don't need fancy clothes and you won't put shoes on for your entire stay. I liked the casual nature of it all - if you're the sensitive type that likes big, spotless and sterile facilities this might not be for you; this resort is chilled and you will get sand everywhere. There are some activities if you want to get out - diving options are available and it is easy to rent a local boat to visit other islands, some of which have good beaches. I don't have anything negative to say about our stay here. I would remind people of the relatively isolated nature of this place so take that into account when planning. Also recommend you bring bug spray as there are a lot of mosquitos, particularly in the evening. Overall an excellent stay and I would stay here again.
"rustic chic hotel"
he Hotel is rustic with a amazing atmosphere. All staff are very kind and it´s possible swimming in a private area. If possible , rent the speed boat from the hotel to visit other islands. Breakfast and restaurant are very good.
"Loved it, great romantic hotel. Stayed in Zeavola 1 night and Holiday Inn 2 nights"
We were a bit skeptical about this place after reading some of the negative reviews, so only booked for 1 night, but after arriving we regretted not staying longer. They didn't have availability for a 2nd night, so we had to move out after 1 night to the Holiday Inn next door. Although it is more expensive than the Holiday Inn, we didn't feel ripped off and felt like we got our money's worth. Pros: 1) Excellent décor, beautiful bungalows with outdoor living space, as well as very comfortable indoor bedroom. 2) We expected lots of bugs but they spray and we actually didn't see any in the bathroom or in the room. 3) Breakfast was fantastic, many options 4) Wifi fast 5) Very quiet, low key, many couples on honeymoon. Good excurisons on offer at pretty decent rates. Much more romatic than Holiday Inn if that's what you are looking for. 6) Much smaller than Holiday Inn, less families with small children than Holiday Inn, quieter, more comfortable beach chairs and bean bags provided. Kayaks and snorkels free to use. Holiday Inn charges for Kayaks. 7) Pool is much, much nicer than the Holiday Inn pool -- almost always empty, while at Holiday Inn, even the adult-only pool is full at all times. Cons 1) You do have to go outside to go the bathroom, but the bathroom is an indoor building and you have an option of outdoor or indoor shower. Just to get to it from the bedroom you have to go outside. If it was buggy we would have minded, but there seemed to be no bugs at all when we were here, so this didn't bother us. Beach is cleaner/nicer at Zeavola, but less coral if you like snorkeling -- Holiday Inn beach has a lot of coral and more fish. If you have small kids, Holiday Inn seems more appropriate. If you are on a honemoon, spring for Zeavola, you won't be disappointed.
