"Impressive new hotel with excellent facilities"
All the important things are spot on: clean, spacious, quiet room; very comfortable bed; excellent bathroom and shower; no external or corridor noise; helpful staff; good supervised car park 30 metres away; good breakfast choice and even 'butty bags' on offer. Why not 5 stars' Well, it is in a tired bit of the toon; it is near the railway station, but it is an unattractive walk especially late at night, and the car parking, though excellent is £12 a night. Surely the Hotel could negotiate a discount rate for guests' And bizarrely, the bathroom offered the usual gels but no handwash. I asked at Reception and they said, 'No you just use the bodywash' - what a silly oversight. All that said, I'd definitely stay again - and bring a tablet of soap next time!
The room was cold but great hotel. We did speak to the staff regarding the temperature they done all they could but honestly i have stayed in warmer tents thank goodness I had my wife to cuddle up to. Room was clean and well presented also breakfast was great too. I would go back but with a heater in tow.
"Excellent venue for a business trip"
Everything about this hotel says 'class'. Modern and very well appointed situated 5 - 10 mins walk from the main shopping centre and nightlife of Newcastle. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable; the restaurant served up one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten in a hotel; the Gina Bar is a vibrant place to meet friends and have a glass of wine or cocktail and finally, the leisure complex is worth a visit too (don't forget your swim wear or gym kit). The beds are spacious and comfortable enabling a fantastic night's sleep. If you need a hotel to stay in whilst visiting Newcastle upon Tyne then give this venue due consideration. You will not be disappointed.
"Bad experience at check out"
On check out queuing in orderly fashion and a woman tries to push in front, I said that there was a que and I was first, I then got verbally abused with no help what so ever from staff all you got is they did not see who was next and even after complaining they cannot get involved in these disputes, not impressed and I left feeling very angry
Last minute night away for our wedding anniversary. We did email in advance and asked again on check in for a nice room (we had booked king superior) Slight disappointment on arrival at 3pm that rooms not ready with reception ringing around looking for cleaned/ready rooms. we were asked to wait in reception. Finally a room allocated but on opening the door we were so disappointed. It was small and had interconnecting door which we weren't keen on. Plus the nice view we were promised was the back of a warehouse and skips. We promptly rang back down to reception who did say they would try and move us. Finally 2 hours after walking into hotel we were allocated another room. Same standard as booked but much better -more spacious and better view. The rest of our stay was very good. Room comfortable and modern. Fantastic gin bar! Enjoyable breakfast. Was just a shame we lost 2 hours at the start of our visit!
