"Expensive but worth it."
We recently stayed here for 2 nights b&b. Room was excellent, bed was huge (and quite high). I normally struggle to sleep in hotels but had one of my better stays in that respect. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the staff were helpful when required. The goodies in the room and fridge were a nice touch as was the 40" tv and access to some of the non standard channels that you don't normally get in hotels. Location was good, close to the centre of York but despite this the room was quiet except when the fire alarm went off on Friday morning (burnt toast we were told), but luckily we were already awake. Will definitely use this hotel if I visit York again.
Booked this for my girlfriends birthday and the stay started out disappointing. I requested flowers upon arrival as well as a birthday plaque, this was confirmed over an email and by a member of staff when we arrived but unfortunately, when we headed to our room, neither of these were there. This was disappointing but understandably things go wrong so when we went out , I informed the women on the desk that we were so this could be amended but on our return (two hours later) still they weren't. I became frustrated by this point and complained to the front desk, they gave me the plaque but no flowers and informed me I had to take it up myself. If it wasn't for this, I would give this place five stars. I wanted to make the stay special for my girlfriends birthday but this certainly ruined the experience on my behalf. However, the hotel was really cool. The decoration was very quirky and the whole room was lovely. The shower had a speaker that played through the TV which was a fun feature! The bed was extremely comfortable with huge pillows which made it difficult to get out of. There was complimentary chocolate which is always a nice surprise! Hotel was in an amazing location, we walked from the station which didn't take long at all and it was really close to loads of restaurants. This made it difficult for us to decide where to eat. In the morning we had room service breakfast which was UNREAL - great coffee, selection of pastries and pancakes. This was a highlight. Overall, would definitely recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
"made some great memories"
this hotel has a great location for a city break without the inconvenience of city center noise. The decor is bright and airy with quirky fixtures that catch your eye. My disabled room was amazing and the beds are really comfortable. A step ladder to climb into bed would have been useful ;) . the hotel only has 5 parking bays on site so book early if, like me, you are a disabled driver. there is parking available locally. Our trip was to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we could not have chosen better. The restaurant menu is basic but delicious. the breakfast menus is is extensive and full of fresh healthy options. A special mention for louise our server - friendly helpful and attentive. It is the little things that makes a stay special and the indigo with its staff is what makes this place amazing. thanks to James and Helder for your local knowledge and assistance with finding fine dining for our wedding anniversary meal. We will have treasured memories of this place and its staff. Comes highly recommended because of the way the staff make you feel special.
"One night away!"
Beautiful hotel, rooms were decorated in a fun and quirky manner and we're very comfortable. All of it was immaculately clean and the bathroom shower was always powerful and warm. Breakfast was a good mix of buffet and menu and I feel was good value for money. The poached eggs were perfect. It was about a 10 minute walk into town, with some lovely restaurants on the way. The staff were very helpful although at busy times around check in and check out the queue got incredibly long and moved slowly. As a result, when returning to the hotel to collect our luggage we were actually waiting for so long (plus some roadworks when in our taxi) that we missed our train home. Other than that, nothing to complain about!
"Best place to stay in York!!"
I would highly recommend Hotel Indigo and it's always my first choice when travelling to York for work. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Check in is quick and easy. The rooms are extremely comfortable - large, modern furnishings, huge comfy bed, air con, big smart tv and quiet. Each room has a mini fridge with fresh milk, water, kit Kats and other snacks. All free. So nice to have fresh milk and Yorkshire tea bags!! Lots of choice for breakfast and good quality food.
