"Amazing & Helpful Staff in a Lovely Setting"
Arrived late at night with a traffic jam waiting for the valet parking. You couldn't get through to get up to unload your luggage. The entrance is a circle drive and cars were parked all around it, with no ability to get through. So you had to sit and wait for people ahead to unload and it took awhile. After about a 15-20 minute wait with not much happening, I finally got out of my vehicle to talk to the valet personnel. That got things moving along a bit. Checking in was easy although we were misinformed about the availability of getting dinner. Due to the late hour, only appetizer type items were available in the bar area, and while delicious, we were looking for an actual dinner after a long day of air travel eating airport food. The drinks in the lounge were some of the best I've ever tasted. Apparently they specialize in craft drinks and their attention to detail and quality is evident. The waitress was amazing and turned a potentially disappointing evening into a very nice experience. The rooms are nice with comfortable beds and pillows and plenty of hot water in the shower, even late at night. The breakfast was delicious! I ordered the french toast with caramel sauce and it was huge so bring your appetite. Good coffee served in large cups was a great treat since restaurant coffee can often be too strong or bitter. The only real downside was that the valet person damaged our vehicle (hit a pillar) while parking it the night before and we experienced a delay in checking out since we had to complete paperwork for them to file a claim with their insurance company. Apparently they will take care of the repair in full, we just have to deal with the aggravation of it all. The hotel staff comped our food expenses and the valet parking fee, which I appreciated. While this is a lovely place, I think I would be apprehensive about going there again just because of the parking incident.
"Nice rooms, Annoyed Staff"
I enjoyed my room. It was trendy, comfy and the bathroom was gorgeous. The provided toiletries were from the Nest brand, which is a personal favorite of mine, so I was pretty happy about that. The location is great with the mall across the street and a movie theatre near by. That said, when I checked in I couldn't find my wallet fast enough and the front desk girl "huffed" really loud and sighed with annoyance. She clearly did not have patience for me to go through my work bag. Fine, So I moved to the side and let someone else in front of me. The 2nd girl who checked me in was much nicer and helpful. Once in my room, after a long day of work meetings, I wanted to just have dinner delivered. The menu for the restaurant had an extension to dial for ordering and it rang and rang without anyone picking up. After getting connected to the restaurant through the front desk, I was informed the menu the rooms have is outdated and the items I wanted weren't available anymore. So.. how hard is it to get updated menus'' Baffling. Certainly the actual room was great and comfy and all, but that can be found anywhere. The service was kind of disappointing.
"Nice but Not Great"
Hard to believe it's on old Ritz. It's just a nice hotel, nothing special. The location was convenient with mall and movie theater nearby. The rooms were very clean but you can tell that it's a rehash of the prior hotel. It's in the Marriott brand but didn't meet my expectations for the cost. I expected more.
"Very classy hotel"
The old Ritz Carlton hotel revamped into a gem. The decor is very cool, great eclectic art. Spacious room, well appointed. The attached restaurant looks interesting but I did not have time to try. The separate I will call "martini bar" is the bomb, the roaring fire, huge central lounge, small quaint bar and more art work, is the venue to wind down after a full day at work. Parking is a little rich, otherwise this would be my new go to when in town on business.
Stayed at Camby because of location to good restaurants and shopping. This trip was a staycation for the weekend before Valentines day. The hotel check in was easy, although a bit inconvenient since I had called that morning and requested an hour early check in and was told yes, no problem. But when we got to hotel, we were told our room was not ready and had to wait in the lounge for about 40 minutes before our room was available. It did give us time to meet the bartender who was very nice and seemed to enjoy her job. Once we got to our room, the room was clean and very nice. The next morning for breakfast we went down to the restaurant. However, it was very busy (Saturday morning). It took 35 minutes for our food to come out, and my eggs were stone cold. I had to send back. The manager did apologize and took off the bill, but needless to say, I was not impressed with the restaurant service overall. However, we had no problems at the bar and the bartender was very nice and talkative. We would consider going back.
