I recently did a three night stay in Luang Prabang and decided to stay at 3 Nagas - and definitely feel that I made a great choice. The hotel is well situated - close enough to the morning and night markets, and also towards the start of the early morning alms giving procession for the local monks. As it is also a Sofitel property, I was able to use the swimming pool and other facilities at their other property in Luang Prabang, which was connected by a free evening shuttle, or by a very inexpensive tuk tuk ride. My room was spacious and quaint, with a large, chic four poster bed, spacious bathroom and small sitting area with a desk. Breakfast at their restaurant across the street was amazing - you could order as much/as many things you wanted and everything was delicious! The staff was friendly and also assisted with making tour plans (although I was told later that many of the tour agencies located down the road offered cheaper prices!). I would definitely stay at this property again!!!
"good location but feel nothing about how the sofitel managed should be"
The location is good ,only few mins walk to pier and town center. The local decoration of room is nice. The main negative points is the "male" concierge is not friendly and helpful.I was requested by a male concierge must keep the room key at front desk for their convenience, but they let me feel I seems disturbing them almost every time while I keeping or taking the key. The male concierge serving only imporved while the magager was on duty. By the way, there is a funny thing here, the staff have more interesting in the falling Mango instead of serving. They will ignore you and run to pick up the fallen fresh mango. The only friendly and courtecous staff I met were the house manager-Mr.Kao ,Mr.Fan and a cute female concierge who ever helped us to take bikes.Thank you for sincere smile and help.Especially appreciate Mr.Kao,thank you so much. You are the definitely the bright spot here.
"Charming boutique hotel"
Lovely historic hotel right in the center of everything - easy walking distance to the night market, the river(s), Mt. Phousi, and many shops and restaurants. The alms ceremony passes right by the front of the hotel which makes it easy to roll out of bed and observe at 5:30 in the morning. We had a slight mix-up with our reservation (we booked the Executive Suite and were instead given the room below) but it was immediately resolved once the mistake was realized. The Executive Suite, located in the building across from check-in facing the garden, was huge and the beds were so comfortable we didn't want to leave. The bowl of fruit and basket of baked goods were a nice welcome as well. Breakfast was great, service was friendly, and when we were ready to depart for the airport, we had a tuk tuk ready to go for us. The manager even sent us off with a bag of bon voyage cookies! Wonderful, relaxing stay with so many thoughtful touches. Great way to end our trip in Luang Prabang - we wish we could have stayed longer!
We stayed several nights with two of our daughters and two grandchildren under 3. The hotel oozes charm, the location is handy and the employees looked after us superbly. The breakfast is a bit quirky but the restaurant is great for dinner. It's an easy bike ride to the Sofitel to use the fitness centre and pool if you are so inclined. We would definitely stay here again.
Great, small hotel in an old wooden building at the end of Luang Prabang's Main Street. Very clean and classy. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Also nice for hot days that guests can use the Sofitel (partner Hotel) swimming pool.
