"Convenient location, dirty corridor"
The best part about this hotel is its location. It is within 10min walk from all the places of interest and restaurants. The surroundings are clean and safe. There is a concierge at all time on ground floor. Contrary to other comments the hotel was not difficult to locate and taxi can almost get to the front door. We booked a one bedroom suite. The furnishing and bathroom was clean and barely adequate. Service was minimal. There was no room cleaning for the 3 days we stayed but we knew when we booked. We found the corridor rather dirty and no one seems to clean our 4th floor corridor. For the period of 3 days someone left half cup of coffee on the corridor window sill and it was there when we checked out. Common area cleanliness need to be improved. Breakfast was included but only some basic food items and drinks was served.
By far the best thing about this property is its location. Being right in the heart of Strasbourg everything was accessible shops, restaurants, petite France and even the train station. The area was reasonably upmarket with neighbours including Apple and Starbucks. Galleries Lafeyette across the square. Felt very safe walking around here at any hour of the day. The apartment layout kitchenette with a full size domestic fridge was also very useful in being able to prepare basic meals. We opted for the larger 1bedroom apartment as opposed to the studio for the two of us but with the rather awkward layout and design combined with clumsy furniture felt the space was not utilised well. Things like the bedroom not having a closet. Instead it was located in the entrance hall. Windows in the living room could not be easily opened without having to drag the dining table out of the way. I'm no architect but to me it just simply feels the building (which I expect to be quite old) underwent the simplest and most cost effective conversion to produce a series of spaces which could be branded as apartments and studios. Little was considered in terms of design and guest convenience. Acceptable for short term stays of a night or two. Further more as others have indicated the maintenance and upkeep really needs to be addressed. Scuff marks on the walls. Furnishings looking very worn. The beds looked rather basic but surprisingly provided a comfortable nights sleep. All in all great position but felt more like AirB&B than a reputable professional chain.
"Needs a bit more updating"
The hotel was very difficult to reach. We walked by the small window front the first time around the block. The rooms were clean, but the hallway carpet was filthy and smelled. The location was very convenient with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. No parking on site, the a garage was close by and the hotel validated for a reduced rate.
"Nice hotel but diificult to find and reach."
Romms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Some staff members were indifferent and not able to explain hotels entrance. Its loacted on a street which is not accessible by car so be prepared to drag luggage from parking which can be 5 minutes walk. Google map points to wrong location so follow street names to reach. Avoid if travelling with young children.
"Great location but quite basic"
The hotel is on one of the main roads in petite France within Strasbourg so it's very easy to walk everywhere. The hotel doesn't have great signage but it's just past Zara home and opposite Vans. The studio was quite basic with a hard bed and very soft pillows. As a platinum Accor member, had no benefit from that - was advised online I'd receive a welcome drink but there is no bar. Had a free small bottle of water in my room - I suppose this was the free drink! Parking is to be found nearby in the Indigo parking which is quite expensive but the reception can give a second ticket that offers 25% discount on stays over 16 hours.
