"Very Good Contemporary Hotel"
Nice clean modern hotel located in East London right next to the Excel Centre. Easy to reach by the Docklands Light Railway. There’s a reasonable snack bar in the lobby that’s open late. It sells sandwiches, salads, fruit etc. Check in was painless and the room was very clean and a good size. The gym was empty with lots of modern equipment and the food in the hotel restaurant was pretty good. Would recommend this for anyone looking for a clean contemporary hotel near the Excel Centre.
"Here again for one more World Travel Market at Excel"
As usual everything goes smoothly on arrival / check in and the rooms are in top shape. the staff is efficient and friendly and the location is superior if you are in town for a Fair or trade show. Food is good and there is convenience in the area - lots of other places. The rate is right if you consider the location and convenience. I shall come back!
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights while attending the Comic Con at the ExCel Centre. The hotel is in a fantastic location. Just 20 minutes walk from the city airport, a train station right next door and the Emirates Airline just on the other side of the ExCel Centre u can be anywhere in London within approximately 30 minutes. I could not complain about anything. Our room was clean the bed was comfy we didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel due to the cost but ate in the ExCel Centre. The staff where so helpful. When we where due to checkout we had a few hours before our flight so we asked if we could leave our bags and come back for them and this was no issue and free!! The staff also helped us by calling a taxi to take us to the airport as our bags where to heavy to drag back to the airport walking! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
"Hotel Has Severely Deteriorated Especially the Service"
I have stayed here a number of times before and each visit notice that they try and nickel and dime more and more and don't value the premium customer (I'm SPG Platinum). I had called and requested a Suite Upgrade and was told last night that it should be OK for at least two of my three night stay. On check in - not only didn't they have an upgrade but they didn't have any room at all available for me and I had to wait -- even though I had advised I would be there at noon and only arrived at 3pm - no reason for that. Also, it took three times for me to request my SPG benefits and feel like they were reluctantly given. Not to mention that the hotel (since I called a couple of weeks ago and verified) changed the policy on where one could have breakfast (it used to be in either the restaurant or downstairs -- grab and go -- like every other ALoft I've ever stayed in -- now apparently it's only the restaurant). Definitely will not be coming back here and strongly urge others from using one of the many other service oriented properties if you need to be in this area.
Nice and close to the Excel exhibition center. You can also take the Emirates Line over to the O2 Arena. Rooms are clean and well maintained. There is a small car-park outside the hotel which is handy but is 16GBP per day.
