We stayed here when visiting for the World Transplant Games. The hotel is modern and spacious with nice rooms and pool. The staff were helpful and we had a great stay. Buffet breakfast and dinners were included and they were great. It is handy to the main train station and about a 15 minute walk to the Cathedral.
"5 nights in Paradise "
Dear future guests, I highly recommend staying at this hotel, not only are the rooms spacious, clean but the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would personally like to thank JJ (Jorge Juan) for an incredible little gesture in bringing me a complementary gift and having the correct attitude towards his customers...
"Fine for a short stay on the cheap"
Probably better for corporate guests rather than holiday/leisure. There is not much atmosphere to the hotel and it is about a 20 minute walk to the city centre and to Malagueta beach. Check in was quite slow and there was construction work in the lobby during our stay. Nonetheless the rooms were very clean and a decent size. The pool and leisure facilities are not extensive but nice to have, especially coming in from a hot day. For some reason you are meant to pay a 10 EUR deposit at the reception for a towel, but nobody seems to check for this so we just used our room towels after the first time. All in all a perfectly acceptable hotel for a short stay on the cheap but a bit underwhelming for a 4 star.
Upon arrival, we got smoking rooms at the third floor, although we specified we wanted no smoking rooms. Third floor, road side means also no sleeping... However, the staff was helpful and changed our rooms, but only the next day. In exchange we didn't have to pay for the 4 days parking of our rented car. The rooms were a bit disappointing, old and not the cleanest you can imagine. The walk from hotel to town is not long, but follows a main road, so prepare your lungs for some "good quality air". Breakfast was nice, as was the staff.
Where do I start... when we got to the goldcar kiosk in Malaga airport, they said the insurance we bought online was worthless and we had to pay 320 euros for their insurance. During the holiday the quarter window on the passenger side was smashed while parked at Torremolinos beach, nothing stolen but I rang goldcar just to notify them of the damage. They said no problem, just take the car to one of their depots and they would give us another. Since we were going home the day after we said we would just keep the car until we returned it. Before we went to the airport for the return flight we went to fill the tank ( you must return the car with a full tank or you get charged for the missing fuel plus 50 euros penalty ) but the fuel cap did not unlock. We were standing in the petrol station with my family and 6 very helpful Spanish guys trying to figure out how you open the fuel cap of an Opel corsa! (The central locking should unlock the fuel cap with the doors). Hence, we could not return the car with a full tank of fuel. Again, I rang goldcar and told them the problem. They said it's fine, we wouldn't be charged the 50 euros penalty if we couldn't access the fuel tank. Just got back to Scotland and received an email from goldcar saying I have been charged 47 euros for the missing fuel - fine - and also 50 euros penalty for not returning the car with a full tank. Regardless of me contacting goldcar and informing them of our difficulties, they completely disregarded these details and basically decided: car was returned without a full tank, so we keep 97 euros of your deposit. Prior to holiday cost: £230 for car hire £55 for insurance After holiday cost: £230 for car hire £55 for insurance £300 for goldcar insurance £42 for the fuel penalty DONT USE GOLDCAR!!!
