"A great stay"
The location is very convenient: an 8 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly station and is situated right opposite Chinatown. Another bonus is the Circus Tavern, just around the corner, which is the smallest bar in Europe and brilliant,
Great hotel stayed a couple of times will definitely go back the room was spotless the staff really helpful its in a great location near the train station and fantastic night life within walking distance
"Good Location, Nice Hotel"
Stayed again at the Arora Hotel - it's a pleasant place to stay with comfortable beds, clean room and bathroom. Iron and hairdryer make it good for business stays, as does the free wifi. My tips - stay on a Thursday, the Art Gallery directly opposite is open until 9pm which is good for a solo business traveller, and the Vienna Coffee House in adjacent Mosley Street is a good place for breakfast if you want a change from hotel breakfasts (I have eaten breakfast at the Arora on a previous stay and it was fine, just wanted to try somewhere different). The hotel is very close to the Town Hall, Library, a short walk of 5 minutes or so into the shopping area and about 10 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly Station.
"disappointing sunday breakfast"
Sunday breakfast was very disappointing as no member of staff informed us there was no hot buffet breakfast and that we had to order what we wanted which took forever very annoying if you were on a time schedule
"Perfect location for me"
Check in was quick and easy once you got to the desk, although the refurb as nice as it is has made it all look a bit "different ". Room on the 2nd floor was very nice, coffee pods, robe & slippers were a nice touch, although £122 for room only may be they could afford a trouser press as well. Starter didn't smell nice and was the smallest amount of food I've ever seen, scollops nice, pea puree was actually green water, still very hungry after that £8 worth. Chicken looks nice, sweet potatoes not so. Turns out the peri peri chicken is just the standard chicken with a tiny pot of source on the side, which by the way is just coloured oil. Chicken needed another ten minutes but the chips were quite nice though. Not sure why there was two bits of past their sell by date sun dried tomatoes on there though. Verdict on the food; Chips were nice, hide the rosemary from the person who did the sweat potato and god bless Nando's. I don't think they mean it when they ask "was everything ok"' After I told her the chicken was under cooked she looked all embarrassed , walked off and never came back to ask if I wanted desert or coffee, their loss! Then they had the front to add 10% service charge which because I had the wrong glasses on I didn't notice until after I'd payed. The bed was lovely and comfortable, room temperature was just right (very hot whilst I was there), furniture very good. My only gripe was the amount of light switches, some of which do not seem to control anything and one way over by the bed controls the desk lamp over by the window''' Then there was breakfast, the best thing I can say is get rid of the evening staff/chief and replace them with the morning guys. First class service, food good and kept nice, top marks. Slight down was the bitter coffee, but not the end of the world. Check out smooth and quick, told them about the lights got an apology and promised they would be looked at. Would I come back------ good location, good rooms, breakfast food and staff very good. See you in six months. Marked them down one because of the evening meal and lack lustre service
