"Centrally located and easy walking to Acropolis and other sights"
The Athenian Callirhoe is located on the main street thru Athens. Our room 506 had a view of the trees that lined the street and was on the opposite side of the Acropolis so we were not able to view. Roof top restaurant and bar had a very nice view of the Acropolis. The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to ATM and banks and then to Hadrian Gate, Parthenon-Acropolis, Tomb of the Unknown soldier and The Plaka for shopping. The negative of the room , they inserted a frosted window between bathroom and bedroom which was annoying for anyone that is a light sleeper. also the street noise can get loud when they motorcycles are going by. We had dinner and drinks in the Roof Restaurant & Bar. Ouzo Martini- awesome! Great Staff and service! I found the front desk helpful during the mornings, the night shift staff were nice, but found if difficult to communicate with them.
"Easy Access to Acropolis and Plaka"
This is a nice hotel with a pleasant staff. The breakfast is very good. The rooms are clean and we had no issues. I would say the best thing about the hotel is location. The bar at the restaurant upstairs has a nice view of the Acropolis. (Happy Hour 5-7 with 1/2 price drinks).
Very good location and only 10 minute walk to the Acropolis. It's on a main road but room was very quiet and we heard no noise. Very clean and updated rooms, but wow was the bed hard as a rock . Besides that, very attentive, helpful and friendly staff, I left my tablet there and they shipped it next day to my next hotel in Crete.
This Hotel is definitely very average in its facilities and rooms. Whilst very clean it is in need of an update as rooms and reception areas are dated and showing signs of wear and tear. The rooms have very thin walls and you can hear traffic noise quite clearly as well as the conversations from fellow guests in nearby rooms. Front of house manager(Greek middle aged gentleman) was extremely unhelpful and arrogant. Breakfasts were adequate but nothing special. Location is good, about 10- 15 minutes walk to Acropolis museum area where there are many cafes. But next time we might look for a hotel a little closer to the centre (Plaka area or Symtagna Square) as that was where all our walking tours etc began.
