This hotel is located on palace side, not in the old town side. Very close to the palace, if from palace to hotel only 10 - 15 on foot, but 15 - 30 minutes if from hotel to palace, because of uphill road. The old town is located across the river from the hotel. To the old pedestrian bridge just 5 minutes away. Many cafes and shops around the hotel. This hotel uses the old building and has been renovated very well, very beautiful and very nice. Our room faced the main road so the sound of passing tram was still somewhat audible. You should pay attention every time you go out from the hotel because of tram way Our room is very nice and spacious, the bathroom is so beautiful and clean. Beds so comfortable and clean. They serve american style breakfast. There is free wifi, the staff is very kind and very helpful. This hotel is really very beautiful.
"Dishonest, double billed"
while we were there the front desk asked us about a double reservation. we showed them the confirmatory paperwork and they agreed there was none. when we got home we were double billed - they basically lied right to us. there are much nicer, less expensive, honest places to stay in this great city - and i would recommend the other side of the river.
Positives great location. Very nice and attentive front desk staff. The hotel is a former monastery and in my opinion they have gone overboard in trying to maintain the spartan monastic feel. The room had cheap furniture from the dresser to the lamp shades. The lighting was terrible. BUT the topper for me was there was no coffee machine in the room and when I requested one I was told that they are only available in the suites. Outrageous!! Would never return to a supposed Luxury establishment with that kind of customer attitude.
The room, the service, the food, and the location all add up to a wonderful place to stay in Prague. The value in comparing the cost to other top quality hotels in the area make it the number one hotel for me when visiting the Czech Republic.
"Quite good "
The hotel is set in a beautiful and historic old monastery in Prague. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are comfortable. However, I have to say the TV is situated far from the bed and is also very small (for today's standards) so it's almost impossible to watch from the bed. The interior of the lobby definitely needs to be refurbished as it looks old and tacky. Parking at the hotel abnormally expensive, especially considering it's outdoor parking in front of the hotel. The spa was very disappointing, it's small, cold and the staff there were not at all attentive nor were they helpful. Not something you'd expect from a five start hotel.
