"Well-situated hotel with excellent service and rooms"
I came to Siem Reap with my family to visit Angkor, and this hotel dramatically exceeded our expectations. This modern and luxurious hotel is located near the city center's shops and restaurants. The hotel's rooms are spacious, quiet, and air-conditioned (which is refreshing after being in Cambodia's hot, humid weather). The main highlight of this hotel, however, is its service. The staff members were very helpful and always friendly. Specifically, they familiarized us with Siem Reap's restaurants and amenities and helped us to plan our visits to Angkor by communicating with our tuk-tuk driver (who didn't speak English). They even offered us cold, damp towels every time we came back to the hotel to help us recover from the heat. We especially appreciated Sina's restaurant recommendations (Malis was a short walk away and served excellent food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and Chaang's ready smile and courteous manner made us feel welcome and well-cared for.
Having been lucky enough to experience both Orient Express/Belmond by rail, boat and land, we got off to a bit of a slow start, but everything must be taken in context. First of all, this area of Cambodia continues to be rapidly growing. As an American tourist, visiting this area for a second time, I needed to keep things in perspective. The staff was positively amazing… stellar, anxious to please in every respect. I think the thing that makes them TRULY amazing is that each of them has a story to tell....I loved meeting Elisabeth from Paris who was an amazing guest relations staff member and to whom we consulted because her knowledge and English were outstanding. She initially came to Cambodia because of volunteer work that she was doing. I also loved the chance to meet Cambodian staff members who are so bright, professional and hard working, and have overcome insurmountable challenges to achieve what they have. Our slow start was a simple miscommunication where WE were actually to blame. It's unimportant to elaborate, but they still bent over backwards to please. Soeum from the front office could NOT DO ENOUGH to make our visit perfect. Every single staff member did his or her personal best to achieve a level of excellence...Vang who delivered our breakfast each morning made it such a point to ask and remember each of our names...Meeting Soeum, Elisabeth and chats with Pheary, Phea and Sompheat (among others) are the best gifts that I could ever take home, not to mention the heavenly surroundings....The dynamics of this staff is upbeat and positive. The rooms are simply stated, but elegant. We visited two of the three restaurants...SUPERB. My greatest joy in staying at my very favorite destination spots is CULTURE. The culture and dynamics at this hotel are of the highest level. It would be wonderful to have the chance to stay here again...THANK YOU BELMOND LA RESIDENCE d'ANGKOR STAFF💕
This is one of the best hotel I have stayed in!! We were upgraded to a suite which was bigger then most apartments Friendly staff who go above and beyond to serve you Especially would like to mention Ean at the front desk who looked after us very well

La Residénce d'Angkor has all the facilities and services that you expect from Belmond hotels: a beautiful property with perfect facilities and service. The surprising elements here were the amazing pool (38 meters long in the middle of a lush garden + complimentary little treats like sorbets and fresh fruits) and an award-winning Spa. The location is excellent for the night attractions and restaurants, and although it is central, the rooms were quiet and the atmosphere relaxing. Unfortunately, we didn´t have a chance to try the Circle restaurant which has a great reputation but the pool restaurant was quite good. Great choice in Siem Reap!
One of the loveliest hotels I have ever stayed in, it is just beautiful. Our room was on the ground floor with a terrace out to the pool. The pool is simply stunning, tropical vegetation, quiet and wonderful service. Never been to Cambodia before and Siem Reap is not a big city but this hotel is a gem. There is no shortage of good hotels, Raffles is close by, however I don't think anyone would be disappointed with the Belmond. We have stayed at the Cipriani in Venice which is lovely but this one is somehow nicer and the service is far better because the Far East always wins on service over Europe. Sum it up in one word - Fantastic.
