"Modern home in Budapest"
I recently visited this residence. A small kitchen with living room and a nice bed to sleep. The breakfast is good however the selection is small if you want to make a long term rent. Nevertheless you still have your kitchen if you need change. Nearby there are grocery shops where you find enough to survive. Not to forget is that the Keleti train station is 10-15 min away by foot only. Metro is 100 m away and you can reach all sightseeing places easily with public transport All in all a good choice for a upper level stay in Budapest
"Good concept. Comfortable apart-hotel."
We were in Budapest for a short 4-day city break. We were travelling with an 18-month old and were looking for an apartment with a kitchen etc for convenience. Stumbled across the Boscolo Residence. Perfect accommodation for our needs. It is linked to the slightly posher Boscolo Hotel via a corridor on the 3rd floor but the apartment unit itself is very nice. Nice size, good amenitites. There was a large family bathroom with a washing machine, shower, bathtub etc. The kitchenette was reasonably equipped. We found plates, cups, simple cutlery and dishwashing liquid. They even had a dishwasher with one dishwasher tablet. We had breakfast in the New York Cafe once as it is not the cheapest (25 euros per head). Very nice experience but there are loads of other options in Budapest city if you want to save some money. My wife went to the spa, and said it was very good indeed. It is in a brilliant location, very safe and the hop on hop off bus stop is right in front of the Boscolo Hotel end of the premise. There is also a supermarket within walking distance outside of the residence. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to families looking for an apartment style accommodation rathen than a hotel room.
"Boscolo Residence - 5 day break"
My partner and I have just returned from our 5 day break in Budapest. We decided to locate the hotel from the airport by public transport - bus, metro and the tram. This may seem like a journey but with the last stop being right outside the hotel, it was smooth and easily reachable. The first impression of the Boscolo Residence was very disappointing. The outside, ground floor which is currently being refurbished is very unattractive, we actually got the impression that the hotel was shut down. The location is superb, everywhere is walking distance, 15- 20 min to the river. The bus stop is a 30 second walk (4&5 - River 4 stops) and with our travel card it was convenient for us to save time and energy. ( Travel Card 4500 HUF PP for 7 days - the Budapest Card isn't as worthy as it seems ) Additionally, we purchased a hop on hop off city seeing bus tickets, (stop 13, outside the New York café) which included unlimited bus tours, bike tour, and day and night boat trip. We really enjoyed all activities. I would recommend purchasing this online, prior to your trip as this will save you a few pounds/ euros. The apartments are "nice and spacious". They could definitely be improved by some DYI. There was some cracks in the walls and the cleaning wasn't great either - especially in the kitchen. The apartment had everything we needed for a few nights stay. There was a washing machine, shower, bath, all kitchen appliances (except any cutlery - very strange considering there was an egg timer), balcony which we requested and the bed was incredible. We had the best sleep every night. - A lot of reviews will highlight the noise pollution, unfortunately no matter which way your room is facing you will hear the often occurring sirens and beeping. I just want to mention about the staff. I have read a lot of bad reviews, so when we arrived I made sure to take notice of the level of professionalism offered. Credit to Agatha, who was a receptionist, very polite and always smiling, she offered us a lot of help with maps, locations and recommended great bars and restaurants. The rest of the staff were absolutely fine too, we had not experienced anyone being rude, however we noticed that you will not receive a response to a smile. Unless you say good morning, you will not be noticed :) Our package included, SPA use and breakfast buffet at the New York café - if you can, include this in your booking. The café is beautiful! The staff are very welcoming and there is so many choices of food and drink. We also had the pleasure of listening to live music every morning, so subtle and perfectly combined with the extravagant look of the café. It is truly worth it and if you don't experience dining there, you must go and take a peek. The spa was also lovely. Budapest being such busy city, with so many places to visit and see, it was great to relax in the pool, sauna or the steam bath in the evening. Overall, I would recommend Boscolo residence to couples or families who are looking for a pleasant stay in Budapest. With a few smiles from the staff, painted walls and cutlery in the rooms, this would have been exceptional but for now 4*s.
The hotel and staff were wonderful! We had breakfast everyday in the NewYork Cafe, which was quite a selection of items to eat! Our room was on the 4th and was also great! We visited Budapest for three days to meet with family that we though was loss during the war All in all Budapest was a great trip!
"Great hotel at reasonable price"
On the face of it this hotel is perfect, spacious, cleanly rooms with separate living and sleeping area, ability to use the fabulous cafe new York for breakfast as well as their fitness and spa, close to the tram (4&5), staff were helpful at check-in, in a fabulous city...but I dropped it a point due to the noise in our room, we were facing a major road and sirens, revving cars, beeping kept us awake or woke us at night, so we didn't really get a good night's sleep!
