"Business meetings "
Atibaia isn’t a what can be described as great tourist town although it approx 45/ 60 mins from São Paulo. There are some very nice restaurants primarily steak orientated. If your a vegetarian or a fish lover then it’s a real challenge . The hotel , more a resort complex , is set in lush grounds . There’s plenty of sports facilities and a reasonable sized swimming pool. No golf course though. Staff are friendly and efficient- although if you do not speak Portuguese it can be challenging. The town is approx 15 or so minutes away by taxi - beware taxis are not quick in responding - waiting time somewhere between 20 to 30 mins. The The hotel exterior and interior are slightly update 70’s style . Most if not all rooms are large and have a reasonable sized balcony . There are lots of elevators spread across the large and spacious lobby complex complex so very little issue even on busy days . The restaurant serves typical Brazilian style dishes . If your from the Middle East as I am then salads and good cheeses selection are not on the breakfast menu . Overall it a pleasant hotel with nothing special to note other than it enclosed by trees and shrubs.
"Good conference venue"
Stayed 2 nights on business. Really friendly staff, and a good venue about 1 hr west of Sao Paulo airport. The bedrooms, are ok, large, clean, but far from luxurious! They have an air of holiday camp about them. Main dinning room is a large buffet, food was good at all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). We ate in the Cave Wine bar one night, again good, but not outstanding, although this is a full service restaurant. Sports facilities looked good, but I din't have time to use any of them. For me it was the helpfulness of the staff that made the stay, otherwise the building can be a little soulless!
Let me say the best part is the food but although the food is great the restaurant is noisy and crowded, so you will wait in the line to get food. My concerns are the comfort of the room, the bed was terrible and sheets were old and not comfy at all. The turma da Mônica only appears a few times and it is always very fast. Everything is far away and if you don't want to walk you have to wait for the train which is also crowded an you may have to wait for the next. The kids pool is not heated and the one they have heated inside is very small and was so crowded we couldn't use. Te worst part for me is that they have many activities we need to pay more and even at the circus night we had to wait in the line and pay for a small package of popcorn. The kids room needs to be improved and again they have play spaces we need to pay extra to use. I would not come back there are better options close to São Paulo.
"Excellent food, kind staff, many activities but not recommended for warm bottle-dependant babies"
High-quality food on all meals with good variety. Very kind staff and there are activities for all ages starting at 4yo. Nonetheless there is only one single baby pantry in the whole hotel property and only in it you will find microwave ovens to warm up milk bottles. So if you are out to the kids pool (!) or sports area, which are away from the main building, and you need to nurse a baby with a warm bottle of milk you need to get the transportation back to the main building and go up to the pantry floor, which may take up to 15 minutes. For a 5-star spa resort hotel that says to be infant-friendly this is a major fault.
"Great hotel near Sao Paulo"
I went there with the family and the kids had a blast. All the staff was extremely helpful and everyone enjoyed their time. The kids pools are a bit far from the hotel, but they offer a shuttle. It was a bit chilly when we went, but the kids still had a wonderful time, doing things not by the pool. Would return and recommend to everyone! This picture is from the covered pool they have.
