The British Colonial Hilton is a beautiful hotel with plenty of historical charm. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are updated and beautiful! They have a private beach that is clean and raked smooth every morning! White sand, beach bar, relaxing beach chairs and beach towels provided (so no need to pack your own). There are relaxing places in sun and shade. We never used the pool but it is close to the beach so you get the great view too. The cruise ship port is very close by but it does not disturb the peaceful hotel beach setting. This is within walking distance to downtown so no need to rent a car or taxi. With all the city at the front of the hotel it is exceptionally peaceful inside and on the beach side. I highly recommend upgrading to the ocean view! This is one of our favorite places to go!
Amazing and money's worth. The hotel is in perfect location between downtown, beach and Atlantis. People who work in the hotel were great. Very accommodating and excellent service. The room was clean and has a great view. I had a great time and definitely coming back.
"Cruise- Day Pass! "
We went here for a day pass, due to traveling with an infant day pass was a good option. Nice place, friendly staff, get a food and drink credit with day pass purchase. Cool view of the port dock too! They have kayak, and snorkel equipment. Good times!
"Beautiful hotel, great service"
My husband and I recently stayed here for 4 nights, April 29-May 3rd. We had never been to the Bahamas before, and this hotel was quite lovely. While not a resort, the grounds are very nice with an inviting pool, hammocks, and other seating available. It also features a small private beach. Our first meal here was at the pool bar, which is very expensive. We soon discovered that almost all of our meals in Nassau were very expensive for what you get. Our breakfasts at the Hilton were a great value as we got a discount on the breakfast buffet for being Hilton Honors members. I really enjoyed the omelets cooked to order. The hotel is within walking distance of several places of interest, and it's the oldest hotel on the island. It's featured on several walking tours of Nassau. The hotel does sell day passes to the nearby cruise ship passengers, but despite this our hotel never felt crowded. We did have a slight hiccup, I discovered after we left that we were charged a much higher rate on 3 nights than we should have been. With help from Hilton's customer service, the staff at this hotel contacted me right away and refunded the excess charges very quickly. I would recommend this property to anyone thinking of staying in Nassau.
"Disappointing service and staff"
Upon arrival at 3pm, I was advised that my room would not be ready until 4pm. It was recommended that I walk the property. The second night room service for cleaning came to the room door at 8.50PM. Room key technology is faulty and work inconsistently. Finally the staff is not pleasant or helpful. I travel frequently and this is a poorly managed hotel, particularly when you consider the cost.
