I would definetely reccomend this hotel. The staff is very friend. The rooms/studios have a good size and are fully-equiped. Breakfast could have more options but everything they serve is good and high quality ( I loved the fresh orange juice that you can prepare yourself).
Reception staff were helpful and efficient. The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. I was impressed with the kitchen area which had everything you would need although I chose not to use it during my 3 night stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the self-serve breakfast and was impressed with the choice of food which was all nice and fresh. Being able to help yourself to free hot drinks and chilled water throughout the day/night was really appreciated. The hotel is in a good location with attractions/restaurants in easy walking distance as was the underground.
"Close to many Hamburg attractions"
We stayed for a memorable weekend in Hamburg. Concert at the Elbphilharmonie ( 15 minutes's walk from the Hotel Citadines ), city tour, nice lunch and drinks at different elegant places - we enjoyed it all. Citadines was the right place to stay. Very good reception service, coffee and tea on the house, safe parking ( not cheap ) and a spotless and modern studio apartment, big enough for two for several days.
"Great aparthotel in convenient location"
Mu husband and I stayed at the Citadines Michel Hamburg for 2 nights in February 2017. Check-in: Check-in was quick and the reception staff were friendly. Our room was ready even though we were a couple of hours early, which was a bonus. Room: We had a studio apartment and it was plenty big enough for two. Lots of light from the large windows spanning the height and breadth of one wall, comfortable king-size bed with a proper duvet, plenty of storage inc hanging space. Sockets either side of the bed and at the dressing table. The room had AC and heating; it being February we only used the heating, which worked great. Bathroom was a good size and well-equipped with enough towels and a decent hairdryer. Kitchenette was compact but again pretty well-equipped with everything you might need for a short stay inc crockery/cutlery/glasses. Wi-Fi is complimentary and worked well: good connection speed. Decor was fresh and modern, and there were no issues at all with cleanliness. Location: The hotel is in a convenient location 2 minutes from the nearest station which gets you to the airport in 25 minutes. Walking-wise it is right next to St Michael's Church, a 5-10 minute walk from St Nikolai's Memorial, 20 minutes from the Reeperbahn and the port, 20 minutes from Miniatur Wunderland, and approx. 25 minutes from Kunsthalle/Lake Alster/Rathaus and environs. Bars and restaurants in close proximity (numerous within a 5-10 minute walk and a couple literally round the corner). Other than getting to and from the airport we didn't once use public transport or a taxi. Other: The hotel has lifts which is useful. Any questions please give me a shout; great hotel and would definitely recommend/stay again.
"Dirty bathroom after accepting a downgrade due to lack of room availability"
Upon arrival, the reserved room category was not available, despite a confirmed reservation. We accepted a downgrade to a smaller room in exchange for a free breakfast. In the smaller room, however, we noticed an extremely dirty bathroom. Bushes of hair were lying around all over - disgusting. After complaining again to the (friendly) receptionist, we had no real alternative but to accept the room. Since our arrival was late (10:30pm) and we were traveling with a baby, we accepted the dirty room. Photo proof was sent to the hotel manager by the receptionist (who kindly offered to clean the room himself), but no word/no apology from the hotel management so far.
