"Nice resort in Macau"
Count Down is really great, the stylish clock at the lobby is cool.my friend and his family from USA and I bring them to COD and watch the show- the house of dancing water which is amazing, kids can go to the kid city before the show. There is a souvenir shop at the basement and convenience store, which they can buy some souvenir before going to habour. but if there is a tunnel which can go through wynn and venetian, that will be perfect!
"great hotel, but located in pricey part of macau"
Located in a cluster together with Venetian (across the road), MGM (soon to be opened), Wynn Palace (down the road). Great hotel, information on shuttle services, restaurants well given upon check-in. Convenient access to most parts of Macau with its complimentary shuttle buses/walking. No complaints about the room, except the bathtub. it's funny when hotels provide bathtubs but give so little attention to the cleanliness of it. showering was fine, but i'd give 2nd thoughts about soaking in it after a long day of walking. It's a pity the cluster of restaurants on level 2 seemed like a ghost town with only Starbucks and Hard Rock cafe open. We had most of our meals at the food court in Venetian opposite the road. Taipa Village is a 15 to 20 minutes walk away, where there is local and cheaper food. If you're constantly looking for a convenience store where u can purchase drinks/snacks (i.e. japan), get them all before entering this area. The convenience store located at the basement of The Countdown/CoD, sells a drink at mop21. When we traveled to Macau peninsular, the same drink at the convenience store was mop6. more than 3 times the price!
"Don't let this not being HARD ROCK put you off"
I was a little apprehensive when I found the hotel I booked was no longer the Hard Rock. However I was pleasantly Suprised , Check in was efficient and Quick. Rooms were large for Asia standards with The most comfortable bed i've ever slept in . The pool was open and was never crowded and Man was it large . The only down side of staying in this hotel is the Lack of a 7-11 or a Circle K close to get little things like Milk , Bread , Pack of cigarettes . And the COD that its attached to only seems to cater for Eastern Tastes . However a walk over to the Sands resort can soon solves this small issue . Staff very very Friendly too - Keep up the good work
"a really good service hotel"
The hotel is good, clean, tidy, peaceful, their provided breakfast are in good quality. The hotel location is good, we can reached the hotel by taking a hotel shuttle bus from ferry terminal. Other than the ferry terminal route, some route was arranged, such as from Macau to Cotai, it is very easy for go around and sight seeing. Other than how good the hotel is, I would like to emphasis on their staff team. They are the most wonderful staff team i ever met, the whole team, not 1 or 2 of their staff. They are nice, polite, helpful, whenever the guest have any question, they tried their best to solve /reply the query/request in detail.
"pool closed with no warning on website"
We have been coming to this hotel when it was The Hard Rock for at least 20 years. Now that it has changed to The Countdown, it's not the same. We had thought that a few days of RnR before work began in September was in order, so we booked the Countdown. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we discovered the pool was closed! This pool was always the highlight of our stay, so we were really annoyed. We complained to the manager, and luckily, she let us cancel the next 2 nights, and transfer to St. Regis -without penalty. No other real compensation was offered, but, fortunately for us, we discovered a most wonderful hotel in St. Regis! So, I guess there was a silver lining, after all!
