Cooking and Nature Emotional Hotel is nestled in one of the most beautiful Portuguese valleys, in the heart of the Natural Park of Aire and Candeeiros Mountains. This cosy 4-star hotel is just an hour away from Lisbon and offers 12 unforgettable double rooms, each inspired by a different mood and emotion from a classic film.
Guests can unwind in the indoor pools from October to May, and enjoy indoor activities in the relaxation and yoga room and massage treatment room. The intimate bond with nature is apparent throughout the Cooking and Nature Emotional Hotel, at the two outdoor pools and in the natural light-soaked lounges and meeting rooms. Cooking lessons offer a unique and fun-filled opportunity for guests to prepare their own special dinner and the hotel bar is always open on a self-service basis so everyone feels at home. There is a wealth of exciting outdoor activities to try, including walking trails, horse riding and mountain treks. The hotel also provides lots of fun and games for its younger guests.
Cooking and Nature Emotional Hotel is located in the village of Alvados, in the centre of the triangle of three world heritage sites: Tomar, Batalha and Alcobaça. It is 20 minutes from Fatim; 25 minutes from Nazaré; and 10 minutes from the caves of Mira d'Aire, one of the natural wonders of Portugal. Lisbon is just one hour away from Cooking and Nature Emotional Hotel.
This is a wonderful hotel....beautifully designed and a great concept. We have stayed here twice and can not recommend it highly enough. The owners Rui and Rita are great "hosts" and the staff are very friendly. The Cooking Lesson option should not be missed. The rooms all have individually created décor and are spacious and welcoming. The Banho d'Aire Baths are lovely and we spent a great morning there just relaxing. They have cycling and horse riding available too (for an extra cost) but we did not have time as we were too busy relaxin! The only think to note is that it is in the middle of Portugal so quite far from Lisbon airport but well worth the trip.
"harmony with nature"
we stayed a group of 7 for 4 nights in April 17 . The hotel is amazing . it is one of a kind place that combines fantastic location with great architecture and interior design , This is a small gem that you will not want to leave . The staff is pleasant and helpful , the cooking lessons are OK , the kitchen does most of the work and lets you do the finishes , but still its a fun experience , breakfast and dinners are good . the area itself is very "Mediterranean" by look and nice for walks and some bicycke riding . Take a good book or laptop - its a great place for a quite stay !
This hotel is a gem. The staff are delightful, the rooms are unusual and well thought out, each one being different and the food is very good. We had a cooking lesson which was great fun- even if I was rather longing for some veg or salad at the end of our stay! It isn't a typical hotel in any way so if you are the type that wants a busy restaurant with lots of choices maybe not for you ( you pick what you want to eat a few days before and you both eat the same) but we loved it here. The views are fantastic and it was so peaceful. We went walking during the day and visited a stunning monastery half an hour away. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes quirky. We came on to a hotel ( Farol) just outside Lisbon at Cascais and it made me realise what good value the cooking hotel is. Farol is a LOT more per night and although it has great views of the sea, the rooms, even a designer room, are not as good and have no bath.
"Amazing place "
The spot is amazing in the middle of the nature (serra d'aire). A good place for rest and chill. The food was god but all the ambience is the best. We really felts like home. The different decoration of the many rooms are very cozy. Definitely a place to return. All the staff was incredible and gentle. I m in love for this amazing place on earth.
"Just the way we like"
We just spent the weekend at Cooking and Nature emotional hotel. First location, close to Fatima (religious tourism), from here you can visit many small historical cities, visit some of the nicest underground caverns in the country or simply enjoy natures walking or with a bike (supplied by the hotel). The hotel itself is very nice, great effort has been made to create a ambience in public areas and in the rooms. The rooms have different theme you may choose upon availability, we got the "avatar" room with a round shape bed. The staff is a credit to the hotel, everyone we had contact with was top. We had the cooking workshop on Friday night, great experience with chef Ricardo, thank you!! We wanted to book for Saturday but it was already booked...
