The hotel was o.k. in general. The bathroom facilities were good. The beds were great. The pillows were to thick and caused me neckpain. However when I removed the pillow I managed to get a good nights sleep. The restaurant/bar was a bit basic. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We arrived late afternoon to find that the room we thought we had requested was not available and there was no way to change for another room. (Reception did reprieve themselves on this pretty quickly by delivering 4 free drinks vouchers to our room). However there was no hot water for shower/bath until later in the evening - unacceptable as we were going out to dinner. The following morning the breakfast service was appalling! Although the food was fine the staff were clearly not expecting the number of guests who turned up for breakfast even though the hotel was full. The restaurant was under-staffed and those that were there were not capable of dealing with the overload and consequent anger of some guests.
Used to be a nice hotel, the old airport converted was a great place to stop off - not any more. One thing you look for is consistency - the level of service and quality varies on every stay. Last 2 stays no face cloth provided, was provided one this time, yet reception will tell you that you only get one in an executive room, I only ever book standard! Food for breakfast is basic, until the Holiday Inn Express ceased near by I had started to stay there as it was consistent - clean and you knew what you would get. Cleanliness and room standard has dropped - drafty windows and dirty carpet. Closest thing you will get to Fawlty Towers all round!!!

Room Service: Had delivered several times due to working late. I would select the items i wanted however it was pot luck what was delivered the following morning. Guest services: Would take an age getting through. Bar: Nobred wine'
