"open plan bedroom-bathroom, Pricey breakfast, no bike hire"
I am currently staying at the Hampshire Design Hotel with my husband. The location is very good; close to the train station, good bars and restaurants and the town centre. However, I was extremely disapointed with the lack of functional design for a 'design' hotel and information. The in-room welcome information specifies that the hotel provides a bike hire service; this is not true. On questioning the hotel staff, there was no explanation or apology for this lack of service. In addition, they did not seem to care that the hotel was mis-informing customers. Finally, and worst of all, the small, poorly lit room (which I paid more for, as an upgrade) was open plan. There is no bathroom door and all that separates the sleeping area from the cleansing area is a glass partition between the bedroom and the shower/ toilet. Again, for a design hotel, this seems like a very poor choice. Needless to say, the toilets in the hotel lobby are in heavy use; at least they have doors and cubicles. I do not recommend the hotel and will not be returning. A major disappointment.
"Great location nice staff good rooms breakfast pricy "
Very near the train station so ideal if you not driving. Front staff -Cyril - was friendly and knowledgeable. He didn't succeed book two restaurants for Friday or Saturday both busy. But found another nice one. Rooms one single one double were large with quirky design bath tubs open space. My mattress was too hard for my back - other room was a bit better. So check maybe not all rooms have same bed. Showers were clean hot. I would prefer larger softer towels. We opted not to have breakfast as too pricey Many nice cafes in the same street There is the Bagel place and a cafe opposite this bagel. Both decent And open at 0830 Most strange is The McDonalds on this street has breakfast but only opens at 10 am!!
"Kept me smiling!!!"
What can I say' Great rooms, excellent location, splendid food. But the thing that really stood out for me were the staff. From the chamber maids to the management always friendly and helpful. The guys and girls on the front desk are so dedicated in every way, two in particular made my stay a splendid experience. Cyrille and Remco or as I called them 'the A team' are absolutely top guys. With the information they gave me on Maastricht from where to eat and places to visit etc etc, and general chit chat they made me feel at home. So thank you very much gentleman and I will be visiting you again in the future. 😃🙏🏻🏆.
"A very good design! ;-)"
Worth visiting, good value for money deal. Nice staff, room service great, as well as bar staff. We did not try the restaurant although that looked great as well. Close to the town centre, walking distance about 10 minutes, Not too far from the theatre which is excellent as well. Great other bars and pubs and snack bars around the hotel, all worth a visit.
The hotel is on walking distance from city centre and train station. The hotel is nicely decorated and well kept. Friendly staff and spacious rooms together with an excellent breakfast made this a stay to reminder.
