"Lovely resort with excellent staff and good food"
We stayed for 7 nights in May. The hotel were very accommodating in advance of our arrival and made sure we had a cot, high chair and change mat in the room for our 18 month old. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were excellent and incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in a family suite with a hot tub which the whole family loved. The buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner were always great and the range of choice meant you were never short of different things to eat. The multiple pools are great, if a little chilly in Mid May. The private beach is also excellent. We had lunch at the fish restaurant on the beach four times and every time it was fantastic. My wife visited the spa and had a full body massage plus pedicure which she rated very highly. She also made full use of the adults only pool whilst I was on baby duty! The golf buggies which shuttle you round the hilly resort are much needed but you never have to wait for than a few minutes for one and the guys that drive them are always very friendly. All in all, a superb trip. I can't speak highly enough of the resort. Perfect for all kinds of holidays, but definitely if you're travelling with young children for the first time and need some reassurance.
"Amazing hotel - dont even think twice"
My husband, three year old daughter and I have just returned from an amazing week here. It has everything you could need and is the most relaxing, stunning place you could find to spend a week relaxing. We loved every moment and will be back as soon as we can. If you have kids, this hotel makes them feel like a bonus not a hindrance in anyway. Adults on their own have a private pool whilst the kids can play in the huge pools on the other side of the resort. Just book - you wont regret a moment.
"Platinum Upgrade "
We arrived for a 3 day stay using Marriott points and Sophia the concierge greeted us as we parked our rental. Inside we were treated to some refreshing cocktail as she completed our paperwork. All I can say is what a view it was overlooking Spinalonga island. We were taken by golf cart to our room which was upgraded to a 2 br private residence with pool. WOW was it awesome. The outdoor patio area had to be 1000 sq ft or more. We hated leaving the room but adventured out to Spinalonga, Plaka, Elounda and Agios Nikolaos. Cab service to Elounda or Plaka at night was 8 euro each way. We did this nightly so we could enjoy the local wine and drinks. Be careful of the Raki they will give you in endless amounts. Definitely rent a car at the airport and drive yourself. We got a convertible Audi from Anna Cars and were very pleased. Driving is easy on the island and traffic was not bad anywhere we went. Along with the platinum upgrade we had buffet breakfast daily and what they called the black card for their executive lounge. This was nice because 24 hrs a day you could get beer, wine, champagne, soft drinks and snacks Free. We would swing by and grab a few beers when going to their beach or sitting out by our pool. The breakfast buffet was incredible. Fresh eggs cooked to order. Meats, cheeses, breads, bacon, potatoes, 5 kinds of milk, cereals, fresh made smoothies, endless desserts, champagnes, juices, and our favorite spanikopita spinach pie. A bonus was we had a washing machine on our patio. We had been traveling for a week prior so this allowed us to freshen up our stuff. Service is absolutely impeccable. This is one of the top places I have stayed anywhere in world.
"Great Service and Great Accommodation"
I have read some of the recent reviews and agree with them. The service was impeccable by everyone. We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment with private pool. Very spacious and great to have an early morning swim! We had booked a suite with a sea view - the villa did not have this view but it was great to have the extra space and pool. Food was excellent, both buffet and the Blend a la carte restaurant next to one of the swimming pools. A little disappointed with Yaosai Asian restaurant - the sweet and sour sauce and a strange 'take' on duck with pancakes - sliced duck breast and not shredded but overall the experience was excellent. A very family friendly hotel and a lot of families with young children but there was an adults only pool if you do not have the kids with you!
We stayed this past week and it was excellent. The two bedroom private villas were perfect. Great for a family. There is a private pool and even comes equipped with a washing machine which is perfect especially for young families and if you wish to travel light. The service was excellent as well. The resort wasn't all that walkable as you needed a cart to get you from the room to the beach or reception unless you were ready for a rigorous walk. However we never waited long for a cart. I cant comment on the food as we only ate breakfast but the breakfast spread had anything you could ask for.
