This is a new modern hotel, but it still has some growing pains. We arrived early, they told us the room would be ready in 40 minutes, so we went to the restaurant to grab lunch. The service and the food were sub-par, a great disappointment. After lunch we went to check in where they told us the room wouldn't be ready for another 40 minutes. Trust me the room was TINY how could it possibly take over an hour to clean. So we left our luggage in storage and went sight seeing. We arrived back at the hotel at midnight to see the room for the first time. Did I mention it was TINY. There was nowhere to put/open our luggage except in the little hallway in front of our door. Good thing there wasn't a fire or we would have been trapped in the room. The bathroom while modern wasn't practical. The shower opened up into the main bathroom, so you had to move everything out or it would have gotten wet. You couldn't plug the sink so shaving was a pain. Overall this hotel was a huge disappointment.
Very good value and provides just what you need for a business trip. The menu for dinner is a little shallow and the breakfast is o.k. but I would have preferred an individual cooked breakfast rather than pre-cooked. Also, I would have peferred a bath as opposed to just a shower.
Amazing stay. Definitely go there again for a week, the cookies are amazing and the food. Staff are great and really helpful! The waiter Nick, helped us with locations around the city. Easy access to the city anf free transport via ferry.
I had booked via a travel agent who used a booking agent. I had planned nine months ahead of time and was extremely keen on the Double Tree Hilton near Central Station which I thought I had made very clear. When we arrived we were informed that there was no booking for us in our name and to try the OTHER Double Tree Hotel. I never knew there was two so close together with the same name. We had to take another taxi across the river to the North side of the city which cost extra. Nether Hotel would consider transferring the booking both quoting that although the name is the same the ownership is different. I was very disappointed with the NDSM location. No facilities nearby. Docklands style environment. Had to pay extra each time we needed a taxi. Free Ferry but that was never part of my plan. The hotel is overpriced and poorly located. Dark interiors and basic buffet breakfast. Old style lift that is on the small side and slow. Staff very disinterested in being of any help. The taxi drivers said it happens too often that there is confusion between the two hotels. Someone should have the sense to change the name. Considering I planned my holiday well in advance this was a huge letdown. Obviously one is expected to double check the address of every booking made by a third party or don't use Travel Agents who then use booking agents. On every google search the Central Station is the first to appear so how this happened is beyond me.
