This hotel is an ideal location for the various museums nearby. A bit more of a trek if using for business purposes. The rooms are modern and very clean, great facilities and a good breakfast. Bathrooms have a decent shower but no bath. Would recommend and would stay here again.
I stay in this hotel frequently and it is always a very pleasurable experience, In particular the service from the staff is very high. Any queries are always dealt with promptly and they go out of their way to resolve the issue.
"Best quality and value in the heart of London"
I can't fault DT Kensington, quality of the rooms are great, great quality meals but most of all the staff are absolutely great, service with a smile and extremely helpful. I stay in hotels all over the country, but when in London only the DT Kensington will do.. I'll be seeing you again in a couple of weeks!
When we arrived there was scaffolding at the front of the hotel but this did not concern us. Check in was friendly and efficient with the usual warm cookies. The receptionist informed us that the hotel was being refurbished, including all the rooms, and this would take about a year. No mention of any potential noise. Our room was on the ground floor at the rear overlooking a quiet mews. Rooms are comfortable and good value. The hotel is well situated for places to eat as well as the Albert Hall and Kensington Gardens. We were woken abruptly before 7am by a loud banging which at first sounded like bins being emptied. It turned out to be a skip being delivered right outside our bedroom window. We eventually got back to sleep only to be woken again just after 7.30am by loud shouting and someone banging on our window. This was a workman fixing a skip permit notice to our window. The shouting continued along with banging and scraping as they attempted to reposition the skip. We complained to reception and the manager came to our room to see for himself whilst another member of staff went to see the workmen. The noise did eventually stop but it was too late by then. There was considerable drilling noise from another area of the hotel as we checked out although this was at a more respectable hour. The hotel really should close or at least not let rooms where there is potential for noise whilst this work is being carried out. As we are Hilton Honours members we have been promised some points by way of compensation.
"Great stop for the Royal Albert Hall"
stayed just one night as we were going to the Royal Albert Hall for a concert. Good location close to South Kensington Railway Station and the Royal Albert Hall. Good nights sleep, breakfast good as usual, typical Hilton Hotel breakfast. Know they are having refurbishment done at the moment, but nasty stain on ceiling of room 424.
