"Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful! :)"
Booked a one night stay for a theatre trip and the hotel did not disappoint. A bit tricky to get to as right in the centre of Piccadilly; we drove past the hotel looking for the car park and then had to go right round again to get back! I jumped into the hotel to check if they had any spaces which they did but there was no space for my husband to park outside in the loading bays as they are very busy. So we just parked in the Q Park along the street which was probably easier. Hotel validate your ticket so it is £14 for 24 hours, which isn't bad. Front desk staff were fantastic and super helpful. I especially loved the fresh cookies on arrival (they were still hot!). We were there for our anniversary so upon entering our room (high floor as we had requested) we were greeted with chocolate covered strawberries, some cake and an anniversary card! Front desk staff also acknowledged this. Clean room, lovely views (room 621). Extremely comfortable bed! Also, complimentary bottle of sparkling water, a small bottle of red wine and two little chocolates! Breakfast in the morning was superb. An extra £3.50 for eggs benedict was excellent and so worth the extra! Chef brought it out himself. Waiting staff are exceptional: perfect uniforms, lots of staff around at breakfast so the service was great too. Fantastic selection at the buffet. Beautiful restaurant where we also ate the evening before. We'll definitely be back!
"Average property in convenient location"
Disclosure: this was booked by my office for me. I am a frequent traveller and nothing sinks my heart more than to arrive into these soulless hotel lobbies, even those pretending to be cool. Low quality materials masquerading as the real thing, the included in the rate breakfast serving quite clearly the cheapest products available (thank goodness for eggs and beans, although where they are sourced from is something I probably don’t want to know. Anyway I get in, am assigned a room and the keys don’t work. Taking what is surely one of the world’s slowest lifts, I am given new keys and fortunately someone actually comes with me to verify in person why I can’t enter the room. The nice and polite gentleman who accompanies me is baffled by what’s wrong and asks me to stay in the room while he finds out what’s wrong. Not wanting to be a hostage in my own room I ask for another room which I am promptly given. But it’s the question remains - if you run a hotel, why give guests a room or keys which don’t work' After a titans journey with luggage that’s not great. Location is really convenient if you’d like to stay closest to Manchester Piccadilly Station where trains arrive from London.
had 3 nights here with work. The hotel was great, the room was very good, the staff I met were all really helpful and the food was very good. It's about a minute walk from the main railway station so if you want to be in the centre of Manchester then this place is ideal The bed was amazing - probably had the best sleep I have ever had in a hotel
This location is very near a convenient train station and a short walk from food, shopping, and entertainment. The restaurant was extremely good and all of the staff were exceptional! I very much enjoyed my stay, and will come back a again.
"Not bad. But not remarkable."
Good location just off the train station and an easy roll with baggage. Great staff who were friendly and helpful on arrival. Nice cookie too:). rooms are just ok with marks and damage throughout. Probably just showing it's age a little early. Nothing fatal but considering the price it was not in line with my expectation.
