"Under renovation ~ they should close down till done"
Location is very handy Rooms size is fine It’s beyond past it’s use by date so the refurbishment is well + truly overdue. The pool, spa, gym + sauna totally need refresh / replacement as well as the rooms themselves. The work is intrusive ( noisy + smelly , paint ~ solvents etc ) In a 1st world country rebuilding around guests would not be permitted
"Good stay,,Funny shower/bath tub design"
Excellent hotel to stay at and the staff made you very welcome with their Thai hospitality. I would certainly come back to this hotel again. My issue is with the design of the shower cum bath tub. The permanent shower screen is only half way and they is a gap between the shower screen and bath tub that acts like a little drain. When you shower, water gets into the drain and it flows onto the floor of the toilet and then flooding happens. Could be very dangerous for senior citizens.
"Leaves to be desired "
I give a grade A to Dusit Thani for the location, which I described on my Holiday Inn review. Cannot blame the hotel for the ongoing construction. Regarding the hotel per se, the lobby is world class, with its bakery and restaurant. The pool, though not a rooftop, is respectable. The rooms are not impressive. They are dated, including carpet and furniture. Bathrooms are small. I was on the 15 and 14th floors.
"Do not even bother"
This is my third time staying at Dusit Thani Manila for work. This time I was here for 16 nights and this was the worst stay ever. My colleagues and I have given this feedback to our company to avoid booking here again. Firstly, the reception staff have to be the rudest and most unprofessional employees ever. The worst would be Jaymond and Rizha. The most simple tasks are too hard and it is as if you are extracting their teeth. They were incredibly rude. The rooms in this hotel have NOT been renovated. They are old, smell terrible and not noise proof. Do not bother upgrading and getting the club package as it isnt of any benefit and does not include a better room etc. I am supposed to be an Elite Dusit Member however the reception staff would not care less and did not want to offer any of the discounts. The gym floor smells terrible and the gym is old. I do have to give my feedback on the spa as that was great, relaxing and clean. The breakfast staff were also incredibly lovely and positive. The food in the hotel is very tasty and they do have good drink deals. However, due to the reception staff, our company will not be staying here again.
"A surprising disappointment"
This hotel has everything going for it except its one main product - its rooms. Let's start with the good: great location with easy access from the airport and close to the Greenbelt; the main restaurant - The Pantry - is outstanding (aside from an outdated and unnecessary "dress standard" policy) and the fine dining restaurant will no doubt benefit from its underway renewal; the gym is very well equipped and the pool has a lovely lawn area for a relaxing aside; Deverana Spa is as relaxing as a spa should be with great service by the spa staff; staff performance overall is of a five-star standard. What lets this hotel down is, unfortunately, its core business - the rooms. The standard rooms are smaller than I would expect, but worse, they are far from five-star standard. I was eventually placed into a newly renovated room but, alas, it was extremely disappointing. It was a poor quality fit-out with cheap furniture, poor attention to detail, limited sound control and a 1970's bathroom. It's a real shame that this hotel falls down in the area in which it should excel. It's the reason that, for this supposed quality of hotel, I will probably not return.
