"Very nice business hotel, but no club lounge"
Arrived at EDI airport and took the Airlink bus to the hotel. This is an express service that carries on to downtown. The Maybury stop is right outside the Marriott and costs 2.50 GBP. For transportation in town, Uber service was ubiquitous and very good. This is a decent business hotel. My first impression when checking in a 7.00 pm was a little disappointing for two reasons 1) The receptionists comment that she "hoped that my room would be ready" . My goodness, at 7.00 pm it darned well better be ready, and so it was. This was an unnecessary comment in my view. 2) The fact that this hotel has got rid of the Executive Lounge. They used to have one, but no more. Personally I enjoy the lounge and the lack of one marked this property down. The room was nice, the staff friendly and efficient. Edinburgh is a wonderful city.
I came with my family in a 20 persons group. We just stay one night here. Really a good hotel. Nice and clean room. The breakfast also awesome. Location a bit far from city center but there is a nice supermarket near by.
"Saturday night stay"
After confirming the last minute booking and having stayed in Marriott hotels in various other locations .I had no reservations about booking this but I was sadly let down due to a faulty air conditioning unit which was very noisy a fan was made available which was even more noisy than the room AC I have to say the good nights sleep which was assured on the booking wasn't fulfilled due to the terrible AC .I did mention this to reception in the morning at which point I was told I should have called up in the middle on the night to be moved not an ideal scenario at all. On the ups side the breakfast was decent as ever but unfortunately that was the only plus for this hotel visit. Thanks Mike
I have been visiting this hotel for the past 10 months as part of a massage class being hosted there/ The venue is very clean, friendly and the staff are amazing. Special mention to Holly in the bar who always looks after us all and even remembers after two months what we take in our tea ! dont know how she does, it- she is a huge credit to your team :)
"Comfortable rooms - a little too far to Murryfield for us!"
Room comfortable with two double beds, hotel gave us exactly what we needed. We had booked as we were at Murrayfield for a concert but this hotel was too far from the buzz of the concert. We would certainly stay again, but probably not to attend a gig at the stadium.
