Hotel is located above Emplisis bay, close to the picturesque port and fishing village of Fiskardo, which is within close proximity; it will take not more than 15 minutes to reach, walking distance. The hotel lies just 1h 15m away from Cephalonia airport and the ferry port of Sami is just 50 minutes away. It is 60klm from Poros port, your destination port if you travel from Kyllini. It takes less than an hour to go to the capital of the island, Argostoli. Many magnificent beaches to choose, closest is just 100m far from the reception area.
The Emelisse is situated about half a mile up the hill from Fiscardo with the most beautiful views over the ocean. The rooms are very comfortable with TV. DVD player and iPod docking station. There is also a nespresso machine, but best to bring your own capsules. The food in the hotel is very good. We enjoyed the breakfast everyday with fresh yogurt, fruit and freshly baked cakes. The main pool in the hotel is a good size with great views across the sea. There are plant of sun lounges and bar and restaurant adjacent to the pool. There is also a smaller adult only pool close to the main building. The hotel also has a well equipped gym as well as a tennis court and bikes one borrow for the day. The town of Fiscardo is close by where there are many places to eat in the evening. The hotel does offer a free shuttle service to the town in the evening. We would highly recommend the hotel. The staff are really friendly and helpful and do everything to ensure you have a blissful break.
"Perfect for R&R"
Everything about the Emelisse is simply lovely. Rooms are stylish and set within a beautiful garden whilst the infinity pools have the most stunning views overlooking the sea and neighbouring islands. Staff are fantastic and can't help enough. Perfect for a lazy R&R holiday.
A stunning hotel, filled with elegance and luxury, natural materials and earth tones, set in green luscious grounds along the rocky shoreline of the Ionian Sea, designed to make you feel right at home. The hotel consists of a main building and several separate apartments, maisonettes and suites, linked by paths of lavender and olive trees. My stylish Double Deluxe garden room was pretty spacious and chic, with patio balcony with sea view. Being set high above the port of Fiskardo, swimming in the infinity pool with mountain view plunging into the glowing sea and panoramic views of the neighbouring islands of Ithaca and Lefkada was pretty spectacular. Especially at sunset. Emelisse offers something for everybody: they have 2 restaurants and bars, 3 swimming pools, tennis and squash court, pool table, gym, free bicycles, outdoor cinema and Elemis spa. With several outdoor activities to take on such as hiking, caving, horse riding or scuba diving, or self drive boat rental, you can never get bored staying here. The hotel grounds are very extensive with numerous areas with sofas and daybeds, so it never feels crowded. The atmosphere is very laid back and peaceful. Blissfully tranquil waterside setting where you can relax or swim in crystal clear water. Emblisi beach is only a short walk away, beautifully secluded, with not many people around. Your own private beach. Short 10 minute walk (or you can take a courtesy golf cart transfer that runs hourly) is Fiskardo, often described as Greece's prettiest village and Kefalonia’s most glamorous spot. Which is true. I was totally enchanted by the traditional houses and colourful fishing boats, luxury yachts in the harbour with no shortage of restaurants to chose from and great views of the neighbouring island of Ithaca. Grab a table on the shore and have a good old Greek feast and admire the pretty pastel houses and boats around. At night, the whole hotel grounds transformed into candle lit fairytale. The main restaurant located at the tip of the bay offers yet again incredible views. Greek evening with live band playing traditional Greek music hosted by the hotel really created magical atmosphere. Food was excellent and of high quality. I can highly recommend Emelisse hotel when visiting Kefalonia. Why' ○ A great haven of peace and tranquility ○ Breathtaking view of the Ionian Sea and neighbouring islands ○ Impecable customer service ○ Exceptional dining experience ○ Idyllic location, next to Emblisi beach and magical Fiskardo
"An early summer holiday"
We travelled with Thomson expecting a full 5 star hotel. There are a lot of positives to this hotel, which I will start with - Very friendly staff - Superb location - excellent pool and poolside area overlooking the Ionian Sea and surrounding islands - regular bus service to Fiscardo -Excellent transport/buggy system in the hotel grounds On the negative side are the rooms We had booked an executive room with a full sea view. Unfortunately the trees and shrubs over the years have grown a bit, and our view was severely restricted to say the least. The concrete balcony was not the best to sit out on The double bed was very hard, but to be fair the staff did let us have an additional spongy mattress. The room was dark and lacked light. The safe provided was too small and did not work at first There was only one sink, and no bath. We also had to ask for a kettle and an additional hair dryer. The breakfasts were also a bit limited if you were staying for a week as we were. The quality was good, but a bit more variation is required. Scrambled Eggs every day! Overall a good holiday, but could have been better I think
"Style and comfort "
Certainly 5* standard service. Staff are excellent. Friendly but respectful and very helpful. Comfortable mattress lots of teak furniture and shady rooms. Private outside terrace/balcony and shutters on doors and windows to keep out the heat. Adults only Infinity pool is blissful with spectacular views. Lots of sports facilities and gym equipment. Walk into Fiscardo village is only 15 minutes on a quietish road ,no pavements, but its steep on the way back! Best to walk there and get hotel shuttle bus back. They run hourly 11.00am till 11.00 pm but stop after 1.00pm, restarting at 6pm. Breakfast on first floor terrace is definitely worth taking your time over as views are wonderful.
