I cannot say I bad word about this hotel. The location is fantastic, the staff superb, our room very nice and clean. (We loved the free minibar) After two years of hard work and no time for a holiday, three nights in this hotel were exactly what we needed! Every member of staff always had a smile on their face and they were always happy to help. The concierge service was outstanding whether we needed something done in the room, a restaurant recommendation, our car brought to the front of the hotel, he was always ready to help. We also had a meal in the restaurant. The food was nice and the service outstanding. We would love to stay here again!
This was my second stay at this hotel. The room, location and service are superb!! I arrived quite jet lagged. I enjoyed an in room massage and a great meal and then a full nights sleep. The service is among the best of any hotel I have stayed at around the world.
"Luxury hotel which is also excellent with chilcdren"
We are a family with a four-year-old son. We like a bit of luxury from time to time but are always worried how our son will behave and whether it will really be fun enough for him. But when this hotel says that it is family friendly they really go the extra mile. From giving him his own check-in form, to all the many special little treats he got throughout our stay, he was really made to feel welcome. All without for a minute taking away from the sheer luxury of this fabulous hotel. The location couldn’t be better, right opposite the main attraction of the city (The Dom) and in amongst all the action. Just one example of exceeding expectations; although parking may be costly in the city centre, seeing our struggles with our son and the luggage that comes with him the man on the door made every effort to keep our car out front of the hotel (and ‘tis no Ferrari) for the majority of our stay so we could always access our stuff and saving us the cost of one night’s parking. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back one day.
"An Amazing Short Break"
We picked Cologne as a place for a weekend break to celebrate our ruby wedding and selected this five star hotel. What a fabulous time we had, The staff were so friendly and helpful and didn't make us feel uncomfortable like some posh hotels. We really felt wanted. We had a lovely big room overlooking the cathedral and it had everything we needed (except, of course, for coffee making facilities, which European hotels rarely have). The bathroom was spectacular and everything so clean. If I had to criticise, we had no hot water on the first night but that was so quickly put right. And the wardrobe doors were difficult to shut being very old but it was all part of the character of the hotel and these are just two minor criticisms. The hotel itself is conveniently situated close to the Hauptbahnhof and within walking distance of all the major attractions. The breakfast is expensive at 34 euros but worth it. It's certainly a five star experience, such a choice of quality food in stylish surroundings. And for £150 a night in a superior room of a five star hotel, I think is good value.
"Great historic hotel in perfect location"
The building is nice and we also paid for an upgrade to a recently renovated deluxe room. The room was nice, however the furniture has an old obsolete style. Bathroom very nice and bed super comfy. A big bravo for the lady who checked us in, she did everything by the book, extremely nice and profi. Also congrats to the Turkish bell boy, very professional. Spent only one night and would probably return if in Cologne again, even though value for money is not really fantastic.
