The hotel was beautiful, the staff friendly, knowledgeable and friendly. The room was very nice and the pool area was beautiful and the perfect place to spend any part of the day. I am glad we stayed here and will be coming back for sure!Comment of W. Christie , United States the 2016-07-01
A great stay, for a great price. Not the best Fairmont hotel in the world but most definitely the best for the money. Great complimentary shuttle service to the nearby shops and beaches and Santa Ana airport, where you can pick up transfers to Disneyland and further afield.Comment of L. Just stayed here mid-January. Room was clean, comfortable bed, good pillows. Chair and carpet were pretty old and worn, but there is a refrigerator in the room - which is great. Staff was very nice and helpful. Great location for John Wayne Airport, otherwise there is not a lot around to walk to. There is no coffee shop or convenience shop in the hotel (the front desk has a few things in case you forget a standard item like toothbrush). I did not notice any of the renovations that are mentioned in some of the other recent reviews.
Hotel was just okay. Under renovations so the check in and bar area were a bit tight. The concierge service was great. We were gone throughout the day, so we really can’t provide much more feedback. Hopefully, the renovations are complete. There is a wonderful spa called Lemon and Honey down the street, great survive and an excellent experience.
Stayed Jan. 18-21 with a conference of 100 people. Room was just what I expected: clean with standard amenities. Nice bed and pillows. Free bottled water at front desk. For conference, many of us remarked how good the food was. A significant step up from what one typically gets at a chain hotel for a conference lunch. Chicken was tasty, tender, and desserts we're very good. Excellent staff.
There were too many issues. - The hotel is under a huge renovation with no warnings. The lobby is poor - 3 of the 6 machines in the gym did not work which made it totally inadequate for the number of people looking to use the gym at 5am. I imagine it was much worse later - A peak checkout (7.30am) there was only one person available again making for a long wait time. For a premium priced hotel this was all very disappointing.
"Poor hotel. Under renovations. Poor service."
I have stayed at this hotel 4 times. Like the other reviews this is simply a poor hotel. It has been undergoing major renovations for some time. The lobby bar is poor. The service in the restaurant is poor. They actually had a water pipe burst when I was checking in which left the hotel with our water for hours. The workout center is a joke. Really a poor Marriott property. The only attribute of the hotel is it is close to the John Wayne airport.
