"Well located "
Four Seasons hotel in Shanghai is a great hotel with good staff. The restaurants and the breakfast area sometimes don’t give the right attention to the guest but still a good place to stay. For business the hotel offers meeting rooms and comfortable area in the last floor.
"Best in class hotel facility and services"
FS Shanghai Pudong is certainly one of the best in the luxury hotel segment. The fitness and the pool are overlooking The Oriental Pearl TV Tower, it was quite a view and an experience! The facility is impeccable. What made my day was a moon cake delivered to my hotel room by the hotel staff on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival. And the hotel staff made note of my day schedule and helped me closed the window curtain before I came back to the hotel room in the evening. It felt like having a personal assistant stand by me all the time during my stay at FS! Thank you for the great experience!
"A fine place to stay but not up to Four Seasons Standard"
Afriend reccomended the Four Seasons Pudong following our tales of the wonderful experience we had on our last trip to The Park Hyatt which is right down the street from the Four Seasons. We were immediately impressed as we were greeted at our car and taken directly to our room for in-room check in. This process was easy and quite nice. I'd like to see other hotels do this more often. First the Pros- The Staff. The staff and service is fantastic. the location is great, we like to stay in the Pudong section of Shanghai and the Four Seasons is very conveniently located. The fine dining restaurants were fantastic. The Cons- We stay at lots of Four Seasons properties and we think they are excellent. There are strange shortcomings to the Shanghai Pudong property that are more the sum of many small issues rather than any major criticism. The breakfast buffet is very nice but not to the standard we have come to expect from Four Seasons or even other 5 star hotels we have stayed in while visiting China. The linens and towels actually felt cheap and were not comfortable. The view is nice but not spectacular like any one of several hotels within a stones throw. The rooms were small and bathrooms not well appointed. At least in comparison to other hotels we have visited in the area. I wish I thought more highly of this particular Four Seasons bu twe will not be staying there on future visits.
"Symphony of Luxury"
As always Four Seasons were on top of their game from personalised welcome to the room along with best options for food (Being a Vegetarian hot food is always hit and miss). Brilliant views from the room and Four Seasons went so many steps ahead to made our daughter's b'day perfect from cake to teddy and decorations next to bed Just amazing!
"Amazing hotel, but.."
In many ways this is one of Shanghai's best hotels. Rooms are big and tastefully decorated and views over Pudong are excellent. I was also seriously impressed with the swimming pool area and service in the club lounge. However, I'm only giving it a four-star rating for the following reasons: - As we approached the check-in desk the first thing the girl said to us was 'sorry, wait a moment'. She then left her workstation to to talk with a colleague and we were left standing there. Not a great first impression! - In the spa each locker has a robe, towel and slippers. When I opened my folded robe I found that it was covered with 8-10 long strands of hair. This is really inexcusable. - Our room (3507) was ideally placed for the club lounge, yet right opposite two service doors. These were in regular use and woke us up at 6am. The hotel clearly wasn't full, so why give us this noisy room' - Service in the club lounge was excellent, and a real highlight of our stay. However, evening canapés weren't great (apart from the dim sum) and almost everything contained meat or fish (I'm vegetarian). So overall, if I was staying in Pudong again I'd probably choose either the Park Hyatt or Mandarin Oriental.
