"Excellent choice in São Paulo"
I picked the Golden Tulip Paulista after doing some research on the best area to stay in Sampa. I was in São Paulo for only three nights so I didn't have much time to visit everything the city has to offer. There is a city tour available from reception, but it's based on a per person basis, so if you are solo it might be expensive. The rooms look like they were recently renovated and are huge, the bathroom is large and the shower is also very big. The lobby is bright and spacious. My only criticisms would be the rooms were a little on the dark side, even with all the lights on and he WIFI was a little slow at times. Breakfast was good with a variety of options, even as a vegetarian. On my last day I had lunch in the restaurant and my original vegetarian option was not available but they made something else for me instead. There is a huge shopping centre about a 10 min walk down the street (opposite direction to Paulista Avenue) which has lots of Brazilian and international brands. The hotel is close to some of the Gay Bars and cafés. The staff were all excellent and most spoke very good English. I would stay here again the next time I'm in Sampa.
"The official name keeps changing but the quality remains"
This hotel can sometimes be referred to as Golden Tulip Bela Vista and sometimes Golden Tulip Paulista. Even the reservations agents get confused occasionally. Regardless, being on Frei Caneca and one block from Paulista Ave is where you'll want to be. Just remember to look for the exterior photo shown here when reserving to make sure you're booking the right Golden Tulip, as there seem to be several in SP. The 9th floor offered a limited but intriguing view of the street activity below. Breakfast is buffet style, and a little bit more limited than that found in the Rio Golden Tulip. The standard suite is huge and the shower always had never-ending hot water. (The shower could easily hold 4 people at once, should you be so inclined). The worst aspect was the horrible wi-fi in room 911. Nothing the technician tried improved the spotty access, and he finally said it was likely an ISP issue in the neighborhood. Maybe, maybe not.
"Great Location, near to Paulista Avenue."
Every-time I go to Brazil I stayed in Golden Tulip -Rio de Janeiro and I had a blast there, this time I spent few days in Sao Paulo , everything was perfect except were NO Internet connection in my room (so couldn't work on line or even check my emails) Even when they try to helped but nothing change. The IT Guy at the end he gave up and told me was my laptop, Ipad, phone. If you don't care about internet then this is a great place to stay.
"Good but expensive"
It is a very good hotel with confort and good attendance. There is a restaurant avaliable and 24h room service. The time I was there there was a lift problem and just one of them were working, it was problematic in some specific hours.
"Good quality and value for money"
Excellent hotel by international standards, great location, great breakfast. Staff speaks really good English and is very helpful. The only down side would be that the hotel needs some renovation, the door to our bathroom didn't close at all (bad fit) and the windows were quite old.
