"My Birthday Treat! "
My partner booked a surprise week stay here and I was so grateful for it. Our arrival was very swift, pulled into the car park, bags offloaded, walked down the stairs past the fish tanks and greeted by the lovely Sonia, very efficient and polite. We were shown to our room by her on the 5th floor, very pleasant room with large balcony and beautiful views. She explained everything, where to go for breakfast etc etc. We found all the staff, too many to mention, they were all an absolute delight and very professional indeed. Always greeted with a big smile and hello from the maintenance staff, cleaning, reception, restaurant, door/car staff, all so lovely indeed. As we spent a full 7 days there, the staff saw us as familiar faces and really made it special for us both. The amenities were great, the breakfast was colossal, again lovely staff each morning. I've never eaten so much in my life before in the mornings which was fab as we were out and about each day. As I had no idea I was going to Sicily, I had not looked into anything but the front desk staff were always helpful in suggestion ideas and they all turned out to be great, much appreciated to all that helped us. I had my birthday dinner with good recommendations and the food was top quality, the setting was superb, just right to celebrate my 50th birthday with my partner. I wish I used the pool as it looked lovely along with the sun loungers but we were out and about all day sightseeing. It was such a wonderful stay, clean rooms, great bar and restaurant, delightful staff, highly recommended indeed. Can't really fault anything, just great! Many thanks for a glorious week from Roy and Emma (room 512)
"A nicel located hotel with excellent and attentive staff"
We stayed here for 4 nights in a Classic Superior Room which was very nice with lots of room in both the bedroom and bathroom and a lovely view out across the pool and into the bay. From the greeting as we arrived through to reception and throughout our stay all of the staff were without exception really very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. The main restaurant has an excellent menu but if you only want a light lunch then the smaller menu on the lower deck is more than sufficient with some very nice salads and cold plates. Our only very small grouch was that the cleaning staff often did not wait until you had vacated the room in the morning to get in to clean (often in the room when we returned from breakfast) or they wanted to come in to replace towels and turn down the bed whilst you were still in the shower or getting ready to go to dinner. Whilst eating in the hotel is very enjoyable, it is only a few minutes walk to the cable car to get up into Taormina and so the location of the hotel is in our view excellent - peaceful for when you want a quiet time by the water with views into their secluded bay but the bustle of Taormina is also close by if you want to enjoy all that the town has to offer.
Spent a week here with friends. Asked for adjacent rooms but this did not happen. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel was very kitch with shell shape headboards. Our room was a good size for two people but our balcony was very small. We overlooked the sea and had a lovely view the only problem was the rumble of trains that passed through the tunnel in the rear of the hotel! Breakfast was excellent offering a wide selection of food from fruit, bacon, all types of cereal and a lovely selection of pastries. There was also prosseco and juice. Eggs were cooked to order. The drinks in the bar were very expensive. Breakfast boxes were available free of charge for early starters.
"Lovely Hotel and Friendly Staff"
We stayed at this hotel at the end of September, the staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is built into a cliff and our room was on the 2nd floor there are lots of stairs so if you don't like lifts like me be prepared to be walking along lots of corridors and stairs as the reception and way out is on the 6th floor. The only downside would be the noise of the trains which passed our room quite closely, but they were not very often and soon passed through. We had a superior sea view room and really pleased we did as the other standard rooms were very small. The location was lovely set in its own cove with its own beach, lovely pool and comfortable sun loungers. Food was very good and plenty of choice at breakfast. We had a massage whilst staying and this was very good. Plenty of space to relax. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
"Very Elegant hotel with amazing views and attentive service"
I went for a fun long weekend with my girlfriends. We stayed in rooms 314 and 315 which both had lovely terraces with views over the bay. All rooms have views over the bay and the views are really amazing (right on the water). The service, from reception to waiters in the restaurant was impeccable. Everyone was kind and attentive and did their best to accommodate our many requests. They also helped us organise some excursions (to Siracusa and Etna) and the companies they used were also excellent. Breakfast was really lovely with loads of fruit and pastries but also savoury options and eggs cooked on the spot to your taste. The hotel is very close to the cable car that takes you to the centre of taormina so very convenient for that as well. Our rooms were elegant and of a decent size for Italy (only downside was the bathroom was a little small). I highly recommend this hotel as all 4 of us had a great experience and would return for sure.
