"Lovely hotel poor room"
We were booked to go to to the hotel Conquistador which we both love and couldn't find one thing wrong, but due to the collapse of Monarch we had to rebook and the only availability was with Las Palmeras. As we are H10 club members we thought we would receive good treatment a reasonable room and the bottle of water and the free gift in our room as promised. We were booked in quickly and told were our room was room 403 went up and opened the door to a strong smell of fresh air spray, which made me wonder, the room was nothing like the one described on the TUI website blue and white nautical theme. The bathroom was like something out of homes under the hammer with a shower over a bath not ideal for two pensioners one with hip problems in fact it was really dangerous. As time went on we realised what the fresh air spray was about. Cigarette smoke from other rooms not ideal when you suffer from broncihiectasis a lung condition. As we had been up all night we just had a meal and something to eat and went for a lay down. My husband didn't want to make a fuss as we really needed this holiday to relax but we were dismayed at this accomadation as we had to pay much more for this hotel due to late booking. No sign of bottle of water or H10 gift so I phoned reception and asked, nothing arrived, two days later I asked at reception again about gift and later on we were sent up a voucher for two free cocktails! Really! We were all inclusive. On departure I returned it to reception asI found it was an insult. After two nights I went to reception and spoke to the receptionist about changing the room as it was not what we were expecting and I was told twice all our rooms have been refurbished, I dread to think what this room was like before! I was told to come back the next day at 9.30 which I did and them was told come back at 12.30 which I did and then waited 35 mins to hear if the room was ready I then asked again and was told It will be another 45 mins and as it was nearly 2.00 by then and I had been hanging around all morning now with the prospect of packing and unpacking I told her not to bother as my whole day had been wasted and left reception in tears. The rest of the hotel is good, food plentiful and a great variety, piano bar excellent and all the staff so friendly and welcoming the only fault is with the accomadation which is 1970's not acceptable in 2017. I would never return and have already booked Conquistador once taking with us 6 friends and will book another holiday there for the end of next year.
"Thank you for looking after us!"
Stayed here to celebrate a 50th birthday and the hotel were absolutely amazing looking after us. We upgraded to privilege and it was definately worth it for our group meaning we could spend all day together on the privilege deck with access to the open bar and snacks and all day - a big thanks to Sany and Natasha for looking after us. Privilege breakfast slow but Snack bar great and we loved Sakura. A great time was had by all.
"Please just be aware"
Firstly, the cleanliness of the hotel overall is superb, although getting ypur own room cleaned, even with the please clean sign out,is sadly a bit hit and miss.the reception staff are very helpful and polite,as are most of the restaurant staff. The food and drink are faultless with attention paid to detail and flavour.couldnt have been happier. Sadly, the reason for such low rating is to just make anyone reading this aware before booking,or worse getting there (which I did without reading trip advisor first, never again will i make that mistake) and be so upset when you face the female poolside bar staff and by far the worse, the two Italian females in mikes coffee shop, especially ana. Im guessing that perhaps some English people before us must have been badly behaved'it's the only explanation I could come up with for the contempt with which we were treated.not only were they short with us but blatantly made us wait whilst they served a stream of German guests who arrived after us.had it been a one or two occasion thing,I would have put it down to bad days, however,it was every time we got drinks at both locations.the worst was a half hour wait whilst being blanked as they came back and forth past us to welcome and serve newcomers, who happened to all be non English. No matter how polite or how much we tipped, same treatment. It made us really really sad, almost to the point of tears. Fortunately, there was a lovely bar lady in the reception area bar who smiled and was such a relief to find. I understand that being on your feet long hours can be tiring and stressful but making people feel like dirt there really is never an excuse for. Had i have read through this site before booking at least I would have been prepared and maybe wouldn't have felt so bad,so please just be aware. I must add that it is not all H10 hotels and not all H10 staff, but trust me,when most of your time is spent around the pool, and that's unfortunately where these girls are,it does have an affect on you. That being said,if you are German or Spanish, this is a fantastic choice for you.
"Would definitely go back!"
I stayed only for a week, but it was a great week. Right from the arrival, the staff were very helpful, they speak several languages and are able to accommodate most requests. I have a few food intolerances and they asked me to report them, so they could inform their restaurant staff. When I got downstairs for dinner on the first night and told them about my intolerances, the maitre d' was very helpful and walked me through all the different dishes and what I could and could not eat. The food in itself was very nice and varied, an excellent choice of different dishes at all meals. The room was clean, with a balcony and nice views of the swimming pools and the sea. It wasn't very big, but if you are only staying for a few days, that's fine. Also good to have many international TV channels. I read many reviews where people complained about hotel guests rushing in the morning to reserve the sun beds closer to the swimming pools, even though it is forbidden by the hotel policy and I have to admit that this is true, although it wasn't a big problem for me as I was by myself and always able to find a spare sun bed next even at 10am. Overall, great stay and the location is very convenient, right next to the beach and only a few minutes away from Avenida de las Americas, where all the shops and restaurants are situated. I would definitely go back!
Went for a trip in November 2017. Weather was great very warm. Hotel Rooms: Some of the rooms are hanging over the Aircon section and Bin's of the hotels so you'll hear the bottles being emptied & air con every morning. The other side of the hotel is close to the side street where you'll hear the rock bar & other bars 2 early morning. We had the air con side which was a better side compared to what people said about the street side so im thankful for that. Food: Great range of food for breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. We went half board which was enough. Steaks, pork chops, pastas, salads, pizzas etc. Champagne for breakfast. Quiet crowded at times but you'll get a seat. Staff are a great help. Sun Area: A line will form from about 8.00am until they open the gates around 8.15-8.25 to get the best sun loungers. it's like whack racers when that chain is lifted to let everyone in. Top raised level past the ping pong table seems to get the best sun coverage. you get tokens for sun towels but bring your open. Don't be alarmed if you come back and people have moved your sunbeds around so they get the best view etc. Location: Great bar on the corner called the Gaelic Corner, they give you serious measures for drink! turn left and you'll get the bars turn right and you'll heard towns the centre of town and shops. Great locations. 5mins to the sandy beach towards the centre of town. All in all a great hotel & location
