The H10 Rubicon Palace Hotel is in a small village in Playa Blanca in south Lanzarote. It is just 35km from the airport, and 40km from the exciting city of Arrecife.
we stayed from 19/9/17 to 3/10/17.the hotel was 1st class with a lot of improvements from last year we stayed in the privilege class and it was worth every penny the food in the volcan at breakfast and dinner was first class the service was great. lunch in our own area was first class the room and the views from the balcony were out of this world
"Excellent place for a relaxing holiday loads of fun here been twice to this hotel now"

"Relaxing week in the sun."
Having arrived in the dark we arrived to find a newly refurbished room that was bright and well appointed. No complaints about the food or the facilities in the buffet restaurant. Al a carte restaurants leave a bit to be desired in reference to the choice of menu, service and lack of after dinner coffee. the menu is available in all languages but the lighting and pale font is made difficult to read even with your specs! It's a lovely location but a long way from playa blanca for anyone wanting to use facilities outside the complex. We came as a couple but we were impressed with the child facilities available for young children. We didn't have to wait to be served but imagine you would in high season. Pros . Cleanliness . Food . Branded drinks . Piano bar Cons . Beach towels are 10 euro deposit- 50c to exchange ( bear n mind the 5* rating!) . 17 euro for a safety deposit key and a 10 Euro deposit only refundable on return of key AND receipt. . Some building work going on but to be fair no real intrusion to the relaxing week we wanted. We would not put off recommending the hotel although we wouldn't rate it as 5*.
What a disappointment of a hotel. We arrived yesterday with 2 rooms booked for our party. Checked into the hotel at 7.45pm while checking in with Maria we asked her a question to be abruptly told to wait until she finished explain the hotel to us 😡then told please I need get my breath. She told us that she would have someone bring us to our 2 rooms so we waited in the seating area In front of the reception . After waiting for 30 minutes we went back to her and she told us we need to go outside , certainly no communication to the guests who are paying enough for the hotel stay. We waited outside for the so called tram ride all around the hotel to get to our room at 9.20pm (restaurants close at 10) At breakfast we asked where to get tea then to be told to go sit at our table , really how rude certainly no customer service at this hotel. Then tonight Sunday we went to the bar opposite the reception at 10.30 we ordered 3 drinks from Christine and at 11.05pm we got up and left as the drinks still did it arrive after being told by her " one moment " At this point I was fuming so I went to reception to ask for the manager on duty . The girl in reception took up the phone to make it look like she was calling someone. I said to her surly you know what manager is on duty it's your job . She said the manager finished at 11 , why did you pick up the phone to dial knowing the manager was off' Really makes her look pathetic . I always stay in 5star resorts ( The Atlantas the palm Dubai, the Burj Al jurab , Rosen shingle creek Florida , swan& dolphin Florida , villa del Conde 18 times in maspelomas real 5 star service to detail and treatment . This hotel is by most a 3.5 star and I will never darken the doors of the hotel ever again . I will wait to see if the manager will have the manners to call me tomorrow to take my complaints Also the house keeping in the resort is very shabby. Broken paving around, no handrails what's so ever on the stair wells and for the spa rust the the steps and no heated beds . Anyways that's my rant for now I will update with photos and what the managers response will be Tomorrow.
In relation to our recent stay I felt I had put this up..Myself, husband, sister and brother in law stayed here from 7th to 14th of October. Our first impression of the hotel was amazing! Staff were wonderful, we had wonderful rooms and the buffet was great! After our first day we decided to change to all inclusive, and that is when things took a turn for the worse! We were told we could have 3 a la cart meals, wonderful we thought, but how wrong that proved to be!! Our first meal was in the steak house which ok but not great! Steak was a bit tough, clearly not rested. Our second meal was in La Dolce Vita! three of us faired ok but my sisters starter and main were Awful!! Her steak can only be described as vile!! When we complained we were informed that there had been other complaints that evening!! We cannot understand why this was not taken off the menu' We spoke to Joanna in guest services regarding this and she very kindly gave us an invitation to the Volcan resturant! Our third meal in Sakura was by far the worst meal any of us have ever experieaned!! Three of us went for the chicken/beef skeweres, the chicken was over cooked and dry, and the beef was minced beef meatballs which do not belong in an oriental restaurant and were also overcooked and dry! My brother in law had the tuna which he said was fine! We all got different main courses which none of us could eat as they were so bad! The manager I must say kept his distance as he knew we were not happy! My husband spoke to him on the way out and he ( the manager) informed him that other people had complained about the food! We all left full plates if food! We cannot fault the buffet, selection of food was great and good quality! Such a shame the A la cart restaurants are letting the hotel down BIG TIME!!! The meal we had in the Volcan was also not without its faults, prawns in the starter were not de-veined and we ordered peppercorn sauce with our mains and got mushroom sauce... We also had issues in the bar on reception level where we ordered drinks that were never brought back to us! Also my husband does not drink and when he ordered a non alcoholic beer he was left standing at the bar for over 20 minutes until eventually the barman went downstairs and got some for him. We are not fussy people when it comes to food, but the A la cart restaurants are seriously letting this hotel down, which is such a shame as it has everything else going for it! We had booked to come back again at the same time next year before these issues but we are seriously thinking of cancelling our reservation due to these issues! Get Outlook for iOS
