Last minute booking, very friendly and welcoming, accomodating, on the doorstep of Chester. All staff were very polite, nothing was too much trouble. Would stay again for longer. A very easy process.Had live music at breakfast which we've never experienced before, lovely and soft .
"Excellent hotel very welcoming"
We have just spent 5 nights at the Queen Hotel Chester. We booked this through Secret Escapes and we were delighted with the hotel. We were staying in the Kings area so the hotel on the 7th floor . The rooms are very well equiped - quiet and with wonderful air-con. We chose the hottest nights of the year so far and with plenty of air-con were very comfortable indeed. The hotel is located accross the road from Chester Station and therefore there was easy transport either too and from Chester or into the town centre by bus or taxi. I did not hear the trains at all but then we were at the back of the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and efficient and any queries were quickly addressed. Thank you.
Just returned from a little overnight stay at this beautiful hotel. Inside décor is sumptuous and the staff are really lovely. Our room (104) was decorated beautifully and the bed was so comfortable. Lovely bathroom with soft fluffy towels. If the weather is warm you will need to ask reception for a fan as our room was extremely warm. Breakfast was probably one of the nicest I've had in a hotel and the staff were really attentive. We sat in the courtyard after eating and again the surroundings were beautiful with stunning décor. There are two tiny issues and I feel terrible bringing them up. Our bath had residual dirt around the plug hole which I had to clean before I used it. The preserves at breakfast were a bit off putting. I couldn't find anything to put the jam in and the serving ladle was extremely gooey. I had to take my toast back to the table to butter it and then return to plop the jam on top. All in all we had a really good night and we cannot wait to come back. Xxxx
Booked with secret escapes, normally they send you to good hotels ,but not this time. Some of the public rooms were ok, but our bedroom in the king part of the hotel was really sad and tired. all the furniture was marked and old . the sink would not empty the shower door would not close you had to really force it to close. Breakfast was cold both mornings. all in all not a good stay.
Thank you to Daniel on reception for helping us during our stay and to Ewan for our welcome drink , local knowledge and recommendations. You both helped make our stay enjoyable and memorable . Hotel location was excellent for the station yet only a short stroll form the Chester
