"Airport stopover "
We stayed here the night before our flight from Manchester airport. Check in was good. We got to our room. Looked good on first impressions. Went to use the toilet to find a frosted glass door on the bathroom. I found this strange. Even stranger that the door was hanging off the hinges! Shower curtain was also stained and dirty. The room was also unbearably hot. No air conditioning at all. Plus points were that the bed was comfortable and our meal was decent although not cheap. I went to the bar and it took 15 minutes for anyone to appear to serve me. One bottle of water and one beer was £8. I left my car for the duration of our holiday and because of this I'd say it was good value. I don't think I'll stay here again though as there are plenty of options round about
We arrived a little early but they allowed us to leave the car in the car park and we returned later. The room was a family room with a huge main bed and a large fold out bed for the kids. The bathrooom was very modern and lovely x
"Room for improvement."
We booked to stay in your hotel for a hen/spa weekend In July. We arrived at the check in desk to a lady who literally handed over the cards for our room, there was no conversation about any of the facilities, directions to our room or what time breakfast was being served the next morning. The room overall was clean but the the shower curtain needed replacing as it was full of mould and we had to ask for more tea bags as there were only 2 in the room. The spa facilities were very dated and scruffy and the areas around the pool looked dirty. Included in our stay was a treatment mine being a manicure. I can honestly say I could have painted my own nails better!!! The spa also ran out of white robes some we had to make do with a towel which was not great when walking around the facilities.
"Hot, unclean and poor hotel overall"
We stayed here in July 2017, we booked for two nights and felt that overall the hotel standard was exceptionally poor and in massive need of some investment. The pool was not open due to 'refurbishment' however when we finally able to use the facilities I honestly could see where there was any possible improvements. Old, well worn changing rooms, paint still on the windows and floor and the tiles could have done with a good bleaching and scrub with the male receptionist laying on one of the sofas complaining about how much longer of his shift he had left. Their was a piece of cake in the tiny lift for 24 hours (which you could not fit more then two people with a suitcase in at a push) and you needed someone to hold the door shut so the lift door would shut. Staff friendly, but general cleanliness of the hotel and all communal areas including the outside veranda, reception were filthy. The carpets need a good hoover and wash, and more staff needed to keep on top of the clearing up from the hotel guests. No air conditioning, was absolutely boiling. Had to sleep with the windows open as it was so hot, and with being so close to the airport didn't get much sleep at all. No room service available on either night we were there, even though the advertise 24 hour room service in leaflets and in the information book. Breakfast was okay very diligent older staff waitress was very helpful the rest of the staff couldn't have cared less. Overall very disappointed, and definitely would not stay at a Hallmark hotel again. I look forward to hearing from the Operations team regarding my feedback and sincerely hope it is taken on board.
"Uncomfortable, muggy and poor showering"
We stayed at this hotel in July 17 - the hotel, grounds and staff were great! However we were disappointed with the quality of the room and facilities. Our room was on the fourth floor and we had no fan or air conditioning which didn't bode well on a very hot day! The room was stuffy, muggy and so uncomfortable to sleep in. To add to this the curtains were dirty and the shower wasn't always warm, and the water flow itself kept going on and off. Again, a half working shower didn't bode well after a sleepless, sweaty and stuffy nights half attempted sleep. We booked this hotel as it was decent value for money and we were attending a wedding here, however given the dirty curtains, lack of air con and poor/unreliable shower facilities, I did not think this was worth the money at all.
