"Modern Chain Hotel"
Modern, chain Hilton hotel. Very large reception hall, friendly and helpful reception service. Modern enough to have elevators furnished with security scanners, so that only guests can ride them. Rooms are small but nicely furnished, my room had a good, user-friendly LG Flatscreen TV. With the compliments of the hotel also 2 free water bottles. That was nice. Everything great up to the toilet flush, which would stop flushing water if you didn’t hold it down; and the sink drain stopper which would not allow water to drain. Reported to the reception at check-out. Forgot a dishonorable mention of the breakfast scrambled eggs and bacon. Not just the Hilton in Milan issue, regardless how many stars, I haven’t found an hotel in Europe capable of doing them right. They should all stick with continental breakfast or what they know how to prepare. Get your hands off the bacon.
"Air conditioning malfunctioning on the 5th floor for 2 nights..."
I am here this week for a conference. I am not sure if this hotel is new or something but the front desk needs some work at trouble shooting. The air conditioning in this hotel has some problems as a master computer system seems to control it. The AC did not work in my colleague's room either for 2 nights--he just didn't even bother with it. The only person who was helpful was the night manager on my first night who actually tried to figure out how to turn it on; that said it was set at 16 Celsius and I froze. The 2nd night I was told it was fixed, however I woke up sweating. So it is day 3 and after multiple calls, an engineer just came by and said the temp can only be adjusted 2 degrees from the baseline. Who builds an AC system where the hotel guest can't actually control the temp more than +/- 2 degrees or turn off the system if it gets too cold. The workaround is to put the fan on low' Is there a reason why no one communicated this to me on the phone when I called the front desk' I'm going to chuck this up to a language barrier. The housekeeping staff is inconsistent with no new toiletry products replaced during the 2nd day. The food in the hotel could use some improvement based on the conference lunch served in the dining room. The pasta dish I tried during the first lunch was terrible and did improve a lot the 2nd day. From what I can tell, the area isn't anything to get excited about. On the positive side, the hotel is pretty much right outside the metro station which is good. The furnishings of the hotel seem new. There's tea and coffee in the room and a refrigerator, as well. If you are looking for an average stay then this hotel is (just) fine.
"Good in genaral"
I was for 5 nights at the hotel, stayed alone for business purposes. It is a clean hotel near by a metro station. Wifi is free but not very stable. Breakfast was ok. There is gym , that I used it once and i found it fine.
Don't expect good food. It's really very average. Service not great too in the bar. The rooms are ok but showing signs of poor workmanship with things peeling off. Colleague had a room with big brown stain on ceiling. Could be a decent hotel but currently off the pace.
"Relatively new but completely without charm or heart - could as well have been a roadside motel"
We’re a family of three traveling full-time, mostly staying in hotels and, when possible, in Hilton properties. Being Diamond members we want to share with others in the same situation on the highs and low of the various Hilton properties we stay in. In 2016, we lived in hotels 100% of the days of which 100 or so nights in almost 30 different Hilton properties spread across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. We earned an extension of our Hilton Diamond status already after the firsts three months of 2017 - we pay for everything ourselves and are not affiliated with Hilton in any way but feel that, since we spend so much, we might help Hilton stay good where they are good or improve, where needed, by sharing our experiences. This was the best Hilton hotel we tried in all of Italy. That however does not say much since all the Hiltons we tried in Italy were not up to Hilton standard. This place was fairly new which saved it and made it bearable. Other than that - not so much. The rooms were ok but the cleaning was not very good, no vacuuming, no sheet changes, despite explicitly asking for it. Disinterested staff. Sub par breakfast (again what’s up with the abysmal breakfasts at Hilton hotels in Europe'). How can one mess up breakfast in a country that makes the best cheeses, bread, ham in the world' Fire alarms kept going off at night, and the staff messed up royally leaving guest cold, stranded outside for hours. No one cared. No apologies, nothing. The location is far from the center, but if you have a car that is fine. Basically this is a place to sleep, nothing else.
