We had 3 rooms for 3 nights with friends. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpfull with all our questions. I didn’t had a chance to try the breakfast but I know my friends weren’t satisfied. It is not close to the center and the neighborhood is kind of creepy but the metro is very close. The best thing was the smart phone they give you to use during your stay. You can make calls, use the net, it has a city guide also that was very helpfull. We enjoyed our stay and had zero problems.
"A great hotel"
This hotel although not centrally located is 5min walk from a metro which is just 10 minutes away from the Duomo. A very modern and elegant hotel. The rooms are super clean. In each room you will find a 3g phone which you can use during your stay for free. Telephone calls, sms and mobile data usage are free as well!. We also opted for the breakfast which costs eur10/person. It was value for money.
"Beware of local thieves operating in the hotel breakfast room. Backpack stolen."
I booked the Hilton for a business trip and I would generally think that the hotel and it's vicinity would be a safe area. I was on a business trip and was carrying a backpack with my laptop and documents. During the second day of my stay, I had my backpack stolen from under my chair while I was having my breakfast! It was bizzare, the CCTV coverage was not revealed to me. I was informed that the CCTV required a police investigation and was not given a chance to look at it. I lodged an official police investigation and it's currently underway. Although the hotel may not be directly responsible for this, just the mere fact that this was allowed to happen was an oversight from the hotel staff. I won't be staying in this hotel again.
"Great hotel with a great price..."
The hotel was great for the price but there are a few downsides. The area is a bit run down but after a few days we found it to be very safe. There are a few abandon buildings right next to the hotel though. The property is pretty far away from all the sites tourist want to see, about 5 miles. The saving grace is that the Metro access, M1 line, was very convenient only being about a 5 minute walk away from the property. The hotel bar and restaurant was very good and the breakfast has a lot to offer. The staff was very nice and helpful. Overall I would stay again.
"The Hilton but not as we know it"
I’ve never been one for writing reviews and normally take any I read with a pinch of salt, but after my stay I wanted to put a quick review on trip advisor. Before I start I know that the Hilton Garden Inn is part of the Hilton group so while it’s cheaper it is still a 4* hotel so I would expect the same Hilton standards to apply. So let’s start with the Pros: 1) Location - The hotel was easy to find only 2 mins walk from the metro station. While it’s not central the metro is cheap and the trains run frequently so you can be in the centre in 10mins. If you want to sight see I would advise you get the day pass which is €5. This will allow you can jump on and off the trains, metro, bus and trams. For food there’s a supermarket and a great pizzeria by Precotto metro stop - about 5-10mins walk from the hotel. 2) It’s a modern clean hotel with nice decor. 3) Large comfortable beds. Now for the cons there are only 2 but they are important. 1) The lack of a good nights sleep! - The hotel room was so noisy due to the lack of soundproofing. Now I’m a heavy sleeper so it normally takes a lot to wake me up but I’m afraid every night for 3 nights I was woken up by at least one of the following:- Someone next door flushing the toilet - it sounded like it was in our room. People just opening the room door - again it sounded like they were trying to open ours The fridge in the room - the fan would turn on/off during the night and echo around the open cupboard it was in. 2) Breakfast - it was ok but my main issue is that it wasn’t replenished often enough. This morning there were no scrambled eggs left, no butter left, the waffle batter was empty, there was 1 hard boiled egg, a few slices of bacon and a couple of mini sausages left with 1hr left of service to go. No matter the cost of a hotel the main thing you want from your stay is a good nights sleep and a good breakfast in the morning....unfortunately I didn’t get that here. It’s certainly not the Hilton as I know it.
