We stayed at the Hilton for two nights, from check-in to checkout the experience was all you would expect from a great hotel. Our room was very generously sized and the well appointed, the bathroom was large and well equipped with a separate shower (I hate showers of baths). Being on the 17th floor, we had city views, which was a nice bonus. The only areas that could be improved are the exhaust fan in the bathroom could not be turned off so you had fan noise all night and the breakfast. While the breakfast was extensive so was the cost, the price of the breakfast was well over the top, we spent well less per person at dinner in a restaurant. Recommendations Ask for a room with city views Eat breakfast elsewhere
When in Melbourne i stay at sofitel but this trip i wanted to try something different and friends recommended the hilton. The staff are very nice and friendly possibly the best hotel staff i have come across and the reception is very relaxing but the hotel and bar itself could do with a freshening up. The rooms are a good size with great views but we did have an issue on check in, i found our rooms had a terrible smell and basically the only way i could change rooms was to pay an upgrade . I found that disappointing. I feel this problem could be avoided by doing what other top hotels do and have a nice smell pumped into the building via the air con . I know it soynds like im picking byt if this was a cheaper 4 star ok but its supposed to be a top 5 star hotel and when your competition is the likes of crown and sofitel and langham its the little things. If this was a little cheaper it would have been a great stay but i expect to get what i pay for. Overall its still a good hotel but if you want a top top experience look at others.
"Don't pay the extra for Executive access....not worth it "
I've been a yearly attendee at this hotel as an Executive Suite purchasee for at least the last eight years. I'm also a Hilton honours member. I have also visited a large number of other inner Melbourne city 5 star hotels Executive rooms. Every year myself and my husband have noticed the marked deterioration in canapés and breakfast foods available in the Executive lounge. Extremely poor now to the point of getting party pies (canapés') and a bit of sushi. Go to any other hotel and you just about get a full meal for dinner and a wide choice (including types of eggs) for breakfast. Just not worth the extra anymore and definitely will be taking business elsewhere next year
"Comfy and happy like home"
Well located with lots to do within walking distance. The family room is extremely great for a small family vacation without having to worry booking two separate rooms and with Hilton Honours membership, it is value for money. The staff service were excellent especially the concierge and the F&B team.
"Best Hotel Experience in Australia !"
Location at the start of South Wharf, Riverside Walks on the Yarra River, Mind Blowing Dock 37 Dining Restaurant, Super Fitness Centre & most importantly, breathtaking views of Melbourne City. The best Hotel of our trip and the courtesy and hospitality of the staff made it all the more memorable. Thank you Hilton !
