Good location with the s bahn stopping basically in the basement of the hotel. Room was old with carpets and not very fresh. Room service knocked on the door even with the do not disturb sign up. I would only consider staying here again if the price was good. I'd never pay more than 130 euro a night here. Nice reception area and bar. Did not try the breakfast.
We have stayed at this hotel several times during this year. Due to the good location it is always busy. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. There is a large parking garage underneath the hotel where you can park for Euro 20 per day. Attached to the hotel/garage is a small underground shopping mall with a variety of shops (grocery stores, bakery, cleaners and several small budget Asian restaurants). Next to the hotel you will find a gas station. Not sure if the hotel has a gym but we went running several times in the nearby English Garden. Since it gets quite busy for breakfast I recommend to arrive either early (before 7 am) or late (after 9:30). Although the hotel was completely booked during several stays it was sill quiet. We have used the metro the closed station is Rosenheimer Platz which can be reached in 5 minutes.
"Cannot be faulted"
We were honestly not expecting much from this Hotel, and as we were breaking our trip for one night it wasn’t going to matter. By the time we came to check out we had added Munich to our last of places to stay, because of this Hotel. The hotel is very busy, so check in can be slow depending on when you arrive, but the check in was quick and efficient. The rooms are very clean, well maintained with comfortable beds and excellent facilities. We choose to eat at the bar that night and the service and food was five star. Breakfast the following morning was among the best breakfast spreads that I have seen in a Hotel. When it came to checkout we were served by the duty manager, a fantastic young man whose name I have managed to forget. If I could remember I would recommend him and his entire staff to the Hotel ownership. If you are looking for a great Hotel in Munich, then I can highly recommend you choose this one.
"great hotel, great location"
The hotel is so easy to reach from the airport, the train station is literally under the hotel. The location is good and we felt very safe at all times. We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it very much. The room was spotless and had everything you would need including tea/coffee making facilities. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the location of the room was very quiet. The breakfast was simply outstanding. There was a huge selection of dishes, hot and cold and lots of breads and cakes, cereals, juices, yogurts, anything you wanted. The hotel also has a very nice bar which was always busy in the evenings which gave it a good atmosphere. There are some good restaurants around the hotel also. The hotel is only about 10 to 15 minutes walk or two stops on the train from Marienplatz which is the central plaza in Munich. Visitors should be aware that the shops in Germany close at 2pm on Saturday and dont reopen until Monday This wasnt a problem for us as we werent there to go shopping but some other tourists were disappointed. There is so much to do and see it would have been nice to stay longer. We would definitely return to Munich and to the Holiday Inn.
"Very convenient for a city break"
Travelling with two teenagers, we were given a disability access room which had a living area with very decent sized sofa bed and separate bedroom. This meant we had more than enough space to meet our needs. The rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. The bathroom too was large. Only two slight issues; the air conditioning didn't work which made for hot nights, even in November. Also there were very few English speaking channels on tv, and the BBC world service channel was not working. Not that we really watched tv but we do like to catch the news in the morning as we get ready. We ate at the bar, food was tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were all extremely helpful, throughout the hotel. The subway train is right under the hotel and makes it easy to travel around and in and out of Munich. The position of this hotel in relation to the city centre is one of its best assets.
