"Perfect base for cycling"
Stayed for 6 nights. Room clean, and in a quiet part of hotel. Breakfast very good. Did not try restaurants, as we had a car and could visit local places. From the hotel it was possible to reach all the major routes in the area, and we kept the bikes in the room. Drinks at the bar were not cheap, but Spanish measures ensured we could swim up to the room. Staff were all very helpful, and helped whenever we asked.
This hotel is fabulous! We live locally and have the pleasure of visiting it regularly for various reasons. The location is stunning, the accommodation is faultless and Giraume and his team ensure that every moment of your visit is perfect! Karina Raso, who is the Wedding & Special Events Manager, looked after us personally and did an amazing job! Thank you to everyone at The Marriott !!
"Lovely hotel but disturbed by constant noisy events"
We are currently staying at this hotel in 307. The staff are very friendly and service is good. The pool is very nice also, however, my husband and I have come here to have a relaxing short break away. Seeing as though it is a golf and spa resort which is located more inland, we assumed that it would be a quieter relaxing resort. Hence why we opted to stay more inland and avoid the hoards of tourists at the seafront. On arrival there was an event in the ballroom but thankfully that was ending. Today however bus loads of school kids arrived at breakfast with their parents. Obviously some school event was happening here. The kids and some of their parents then used the pool facilities. It has been very noisy! After the first group came and went, another bus load of slightly older children arrived with their parents for the second session! The pool is full of kids shouting and shrieking in the pool. This is not how I expected to spend a much needed restful time away. We are dreading what event might be on tomorrow! I just think it's insulting of the hotel management to expect their paying hotel guests to endure the disruption of the events they have on and for outside parties to take over the hotel facilities that staying guests should get priority to enjoy. I understand that it may be good income for the hotel to offer events but then I think the hotel should then at least offer separate facilities for their function guests away from their hotel staying guests. I also think it would be decent and respectful,of the hotel management to inform their guests that certain events will be on so that guests are prepared for it, or can book alternative dates to stay at the hotel. Or at the very very least, offer free entry into their spa so that they can escape the very unrelaxing atmosphere that the functions they hold have created for us. Not impressed and probably will not stay here again knowing what the set up is. At the very least, if you decide to book, make sure you ask what functions have been booked. Or if you want to be guaranteed a relaxing holiday, book elsewhere.

I've stayed here before and there's a good reason I booked again...I'm fussy, I like to be treated like a paying guest and this hotel does it so well. Great breakfast and dinner, great spa facilities and will be back again.
"staff charming but "
We checked in and the reception staff were perfect, we eat from the bar menu and the food was very good. The bar staff were also very friendly and helpful . Then the problems started coming , it's my key card didn't work so I had to walk back to the lifts and call for assistance which did come some eight minutes later. We had a nap and found the bedding and room very hot even with the air conditioning on, so requested a top sheet and someone yo look at the aircon. the sheet arrived and was handed to me to change the bed myself 😀. But as for air con I was told it would have to wait until the morning 😡 after I made a fuss they came to look at it and was told that we are in Spain and they don't have strong air con here as they are used to the heat and that many clients from the uk and Germany have also complained. The maintenance man The appeared and said he could turn it down 2 degrees , I feel that as a client in a five star hotel I should be able to choose the temperature in my room. I eventually have my shower at 22:30 after they have left the room. After washing my long hair I discover that there is no hairdryer In the draw, I call reception to report this to be told they sorry but it will have to wait until tomorrow 😡😡 I'm no really cross and explain my hair is soaking wet and takes hours to dry naturally and it's 10:30 at night, I tell them to sort it as I can't go to bed with wet hair. Ten mins later they arrive at our room with a hair dryer and lots of apologies. I'm now in need of a drink and something to eat so call for room service at 11:05 To be told that all that is available was salads and a few cold tapas, that have been previously prepared as no sandwiches so I choose one and am told it could take up to 45mins as the kitchen is now closed. I'm then called ten mins later to be told they don't have that available errrr it is not my day is it It arrived at 23:30 so not to bad. My 2year old grandson turned up at 11:45 and had been sick on the plane poor lad all over he's sleep toy which needed washing and guess what no one was available until the following morning to help out, This is not what I would expect from a five star hotel . You can see from all the many hotels and restaurant that I visit it is rare for me to find fault in a venue so it grieves me to make negative comments on this particular hotel. I'm in the top 5 percent of most read on trip advisor and have stayed in hotels all over the world so it saddens me to be finding fault in a nice hotel that's just missing it's target on customer service, It's such a shame as the hotel is very pretty and in a lovely setting. The beds are comfortable and the room was spotless. All the staff are above charming so I can assume that more staff are needed to offer the service that we're paying for. Ive now spent my whole evening waiting for people to check air con, or change bedding, and writing comments on here instead of relaxing reading my book like I was suppose to be doing regards totally stressed .
