"hotel rooms are fine - restaurant is bad"
The Hotel is fine and offers what you would expect for the Price - the Restaurant is funny - I ordered a Pizza in the Italian Restaurant on a Friday evening - they told me Pizza is sold out! The Service was very slow ..
"Absolutely Wonderful in Every Way!"
This is a very lovely place to stay and with easy access to the Alt Stadt by tram across the street from the hotel. The rooms are quite nice and comfortable. The amenities are very nice, the staff is super friendly, the breakfasts are out of this World, both inside and outside, and the bar inside is so much fun. Our favorite bartender was Stetlin Micher. He is a very funny man with a dry sense of humor, and is super at his job. One evening he made me a night cap consisting of a shot glass full of beer and a straw. That is the kind of humor that keeps one coming back. Great job, sir! This was my first trip into Eastern Germany, as I am a retired US Army officer and could not go there during my time of service. What a wonderful experience this was, Dresden Alt Stadt included. I want to go back one day. God bless you folks!
"Great hotel in a great location with wonderful staff"
Just returned from Germany and the Czech Republic. Our travel agent booked us two nights stay at this hotel in Dresden and we couldn't have been happier. When we arrived we were greeted at reception by a young woman named Amalia who spoke perfect English and was so nice and helpful that we knew then and there we would enjoy staying at this hotel. It is a beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms and great dining. The room we had was just spectacular and the breakfast we had for two days was the best we had during our entire trip. Ate dinner in their restaurant and it was quite good and not expensive. This is a family owned hotel and they take great pride in maintaining it. The location is very close to the Zwinger - just two stops by tram. Did not use the fitness center or sauna but was told it is very small and that there is a small charge to use it. We had too much to do in Dresden for two days so this was not a factor. Overall, highly recommend this hotel!
"Comfort am Elb"
This hotel is located just outside the 'altstadt', nut a 3 minute walk brings you to Zwinger. Normally In don't stay in this big hotels, nut a last minute booking was very tempting. Big, comfortable rooms with nice views over Dresden. (Take a room on the top floors, elevators work perfect). Grand buffet for breakfast. And most important, friendly staff everywhere.
Big hotel complex with honest familiar feeling. Big spacious rooms and bathrooms. Clean and airy. Good sizeable breakfast with options. Stayed for three nights. Try catch the summer theatre played in the courtyard at the hotel.
